Fall Further is Going to Hell

Law/Chaos
Body/Mind
Life/Death
Creation/Entropy
Sun/Shadow
Fire/Water
Air/Earth

ok, some of the mana types aren't in neatly organised pairs
spirit
dimensional
nature
force
ice
metamagic

It isn't Body/Mind, it is Body/Spirit. Body and Mind are very closely aligned, not opposites at all. They are both very selfish, worldly spheres, while spirit is pure altruism. Mind cares about the self and doesn't care about others (it is quite willing to hurt others, but not just for the sake of hurting them), while Body cares about the self and actively hates all others. Spirit doesn't care about the self and actively loves all others (it won't sacrifice itself for no reason, but won't hesitate to risk its safety for those who need help)

Dimensional is the opposite of Enchantment. The names don't make it clear, but Dimensional is the sphere of worth only though position and relation while enchantment is the sphere of intrinsic worth. Dimensional cares grealy for power and control in relationships, while Enchantment only wants to enjoy the lved one's company without any sense of ownership.

It is usually Fire/Ice, since water is a very passive and neutral sphere and doesn't like the conflict. Ice can also be considered the opposite fo nature. Fire is passion, acting on emotion, and rapid change. Water is serenity, thinking on emotion instead of acting, and going along with changes but not causing them. Ice is cold and calculating, without emotion, and desiring to return to an idealized previous state. Nature is growth, an acceptance of natural, gradual, progressive change but rejection of anyone's artificial attemps to change the the world.

Force is pure balance. Its opposite would be any of the 20 other spheres taken too far.

If I had to guess at an opposite fo Metamagic, it would be Mind. Mammon and Oghma are at war, and Mammon had invaded Oghma's vault. Metamagic is pure knowledge and the guarding of hidden truths, while Mind is the greedy attempt to discover this knowledge and use it for soneself while distorting it so others cannot use it.

Any chance of getting you as a Great Sage in the next patch?;)
My Calibim Empire could use someone like you.

He's been a great sage in the main FfH mod (and FF/Orbis) since sometime during Shadow...

Just a question, what exacly is the content of said quote?

"Cultuum? Spends all his days up in the Tower of Alteration. Apparently he's trying to build a better universe. Some say he's insane. Every so often he'll mention one of his ideas, though... you know what I reckon? If he pulls it off, I'm moving there."
-Unknown adept on Magister Cultuum

A nice little commentary on Magister's modmod, which we're all waiting for. :D

Edit: Post 1200!

Well, the rituals don't exist, so they would do whatever they were coded to do, including defend everyone or only defend the creator, as desired. And AI preference for the rituals would also be an "as programmed" type of deal.

I still think that good civs should not be imune to the hell terain transformation.
Althou you could make a repeatable ritual that would render them imune for N amount of turns and would than have to be repeated. It should be costly so that hell can actualy spread into good teritory while you build it. And it should not dispel hell that is already present in your land.
Just to give those sanctify adepts some use.

How about a ritual (expensive) that for a (short) number of turns, freezes the spread of Hell terrain?

It would be at a point in the research tree where if someone is really pushing it, Hell will certainly be bleeding into the world already, and it should be expensive enough that it would require multiple strong cities to keep spamming it fast enough to be a constant effect. Thus, the evils could apply direct pressure to the nation(s) casting the spell, to force them to shift to military, or crumble.

It would make it a bit more of an active tug-of-war, I think.

My 2 cents: Basium is the Archangel of Life. He just dosn't like Succelus [i know, spelling], very much. Hence I think it should be Life/Entropy [for the Rituals]

They still don't exist, so it's not a major concern right now...
