Maybe a DLC will be released in tandem. Why have such an extensive patch and no DLC?
This is really anoying I have vacation and want to play a game of civ 5 but I can't because knowwhen the patch comes because it will ruin my save game![]()
-With making deals, AIs will notify you when they're not willing to give enough on their side to make the deal work. This addresses some issues where you ask an AI to propose a deal and they say "we can't make a deal" and then you propose a lop-sided deal and they accept it. They will say "we aren't willing to give you enough to make this a fair trade."
-Promotion balance change: make the +200% vs. Cities promotion go away on upgrade.
Does this mean I can't gift stuff to the AI for free anymore?
Mind you, the German guy only knew the DLC up until Denmark or Korea. It's possible, but I suspect that means a November release for the patch. Otherwise, we would have heard something about DLC by now (even if a rumor by a German guy).

And am I understanding the latter part correctly that if a unit earns that promotion, then it's upgraded to a higher tech one, it no longer has that promotion?

G&K is the last DLC and he didn't say anything about that.He knew it up to Korea, which includes the 7 Wonders DLC. Since those were the last ones, I'd say he was up to date.

You mean it has been confirmed that there wont be 2nd(or 3rd) expansion for Civ5?
I really see espionage as a technological "rubber band" mechanic. It's there so you don't get civs stuck in the medieval era next to civs in the atomic era.
Espionage provides another decision point. Don't like coups, put your spies in your favored CSs. Like to steak technolgy, put your spies in other civs capitals. It's up to you how you use them. I think the espionage mechanic is much preferable to that of CiIV.
The espionage mechanic in vanilla Civ5 is more enjoyable than the espionage mechanic in Civ4.
Totally disagree. I loved the espionage mechanic in Civ4, it was much more expansive and realistic too. You can hardly do anything in espionage in Civ5. The ONLY good part of it is you can pass details to other Civs if you want.
