Fallout mod.

As for the mod, It is in testable format now. Just everybody and their brothers have bailed, so I saw no reason to announce it. As nobody was around to help. Stainz has disappeared also, so the interface is only about half done, and other gfx are not complete either. Unit wise I have the models textured, but I can't animate them. Right now I am using placeholder gfx for the units, and that is what the playtesters will get.

To help playtest you have to have contributed something to the mod. The list of folks who may playtest if they wish, is as follows:

Marine Corps
Recon 1591
Stainz

I am currently waiting on FTP access on Evo games, as that is the place where the playtesting will take place. If you are on the list and wish to playtest, give a shout on this thread. If you have contributed something to the mod and wish to playtest, but is not listed, Give a shout also.

I'm around still and am able to playtest. How big is the mod in terms of MB?
 
Well, the playtest version is about 125mbs, as about half of the units are fully animated, and the Unique Fallout units are mainly one frame non-animated place holder units.


As soon as Luc or MR give me the urls and addys for the FTP, I am going to upload the playtest version.


@Flamescreen, I am still using the FOT Units, just the RPG units are going to be 3d models.

Glad your back thor, as you know real life can get in the way alot! BTW, did you get the city files I sent last?

And of course I'm ready to play test (as soon as I'm done building my new computer.)

Reddog, yeah I got them, they were outstanding as usual. :goodjob: As soon as I get the FTP space, I will let you folks know the hidden playtester forum on EVO games and then you all will be able to dl the playtest version.

Reddog, when you get the playtest version, you think you might be able to take a crack at the interface gfx? As they are incomplete. Stainz sudden disappearence has put me in a bind, as all the gfx stuff he had done was stored on his FTP site.

Sure no problem. It might take me sometime to produce anything though because i'm still piecing together my new computer, but by the end of the month everything will be kicking. BTW, what interface gfxs are missing, from the screens I've seen so far most of the stuff seems intact..

The gfx needed are mainly buttons, arrows, the interface for the civilopedia and pediaicon interface. When you get the playtest version you will see it is mainly hit and miss. As Stainz was kind of 'erratic' in what gfx he has done. :D

Well that dose not sound too bad... It should not be a problem to complete all the interface gfxs, (unlike the time it took to finish the city gfxs). I'm looking foward to seeing the work we all done so far in the beta/alpha test...

After looknig for the mythic "Fallout Civ Mod" for so long, I would like to say you guys do not let it down ok? Keep up the GREAT work! You guys are truly artists.

By the way, I would like to know how can I join the Beta test team. Im on vacation from university and unemployed right now. I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. So I think I could be of much help, since I have much time free, and Ive played colonize, civ 2 and 3, alpha centauri, Fallout 1 e 2, FoT, and Wasteland. What civ version will this mod use? Cause i own only the original (first one) version of Civ3 - no conquerors or play the world.

Shodan welcome to CFC, and Fe3333au is correct, it will require conquests and the patch. As for beta testing, I am sorry, but because of the persons who said they were going to help test my WOTW mod, and then never posted again after DLing the mod, I am going to limit the testing to folks who actually contributed to the mod. Sorry about that, but I do not want folks to say they are going to test then dl it and never post again.

Here is the site where all the testing is going to occur. The testing forum is going to be hidden, but myself and the testers will post screenies to keep you all updated. :) Activity in this thread will lessen till it is time for release, then I will post it in the mods section. In fact I have just put up a screenie of my newest run through with the brotherhood. :D

Reddog, i appreciate what you said, but you haven't seen the units. The way they move, their sounds, attacks, etc(as I'm not illogical to demand reviews from people who never saw them in action). These were only available to Thorgrimm, so that's why I specifically asked for his feedback. There are things I didn't show to the rest of the world, so the units have something of worth to the player, when in the mod, a surprise of shorts(hopefully pleasant), but it would be nothing without feedback. Anyway, I didn't got feedback, and I want it when I want it. It would have been very usefull with my presnt limited time.

Good thing is I've chosen to upgrade my system too, as it was slow for graphics purposes.
Hope the upload will be ready by tommorow, it's time I burn my net dloads to install on my system.
Hm, on checking the Evo games board ,it seems unlikely for tomorrow.

@Thorgrimm, I want to convert some of the FOT units to use in Wasteworld.
Since my time decreased lately, I'll have it done probably by mid 2006. I'm in a relative hurry since I'm planning at least 10 mods or 20 if I can make it. I'll have to make my own conversions if RoC is not released by then, since i need some of these units.
 
Playtesting has began. If you would like to playtest here are several rules you must agree to.
Ok folks, Luc and I spent a couple of hours last night getting the kinks worked out of the upload, so it is now uploaded.

What I am now going to do is give a couple of rules for the playtest and call a roll call.

1. I WILL expect daily report posts in the testers section.

2. We will have a MSN meeting once a week. Time and date to be determined later.

3. if you are going to be absent and cannot make your daily reports let me know either by PM or in a post in the testers section.

4. If you miss 3 daily reports or two weekly meetings without a notification, you will be put on notice and if the reports or meetings are missed again without any notice, you will be removed from the testing group.

Sorry to be a hard ass, but I have put too much time into this project to allow the testers to get lax. Smile I require testers who are truly dedicated to getting this project finished and out the door.

So if you agree to the terms I have laid out post that you are ready and agree to the terms.

Crap crap crap.

This is what happens when you explore to much to early in the game. :( The deathclaws are coming in large numbers, forcing me to pull back the few military units I have and all of my workers to a city. :( I've lost a about 14 workers and 2 military units so far.

yo, thanks for the screen shots, looks really really kickass, i would love to playtest, but i dont think i could stay up with the daily reports! :( but anyways, too bad for you MarineCorps, i guess the deathclaws really think workers taste good (i found that the ripper works real good against deathclaws, but thats in Fallout 1/2)
