Fantasy NES: Sekai

Territory=hex?

Repeating the question now that you're here. I'm quite sure the answer is postiive, but I want to be completely sure before making any territorial claims.

Yep, a territory is a hex.

Lord Iggy, you rolled a 2, so you have a starting economy of 500.

Fulton, that would be perfectly fine... I would create an NPC host kingdom for you... I need to make some of those anyway.

Here is a vague territory of the entire map (what you guys see is only Sekai), including the two ancient empires and some other additions. Its very vague.

Sorry but I must drop out of this. GF requires more attention.

The Malthen Kingdom claims the territory N-21 for its capital city, Ost-Letha; in addition to this, it claims the nearby territories O-20, O-21 and M-21.

The Great Green Kingdom of Glotrith's territories: O's 3,4,5, and 6. N's 3,4, and 5. M's 4 and 5. And finally, Q4.

I think you scooted everything over by one, but I see how you did it, and I know where you are, so don't worry. But for future reference, the hexes with letters on them are indeed claimable, and begin with "1". Also, you chose 10 territories, and you only get to start with 9. So I'm going to take out the Q4... if this isn't the one you want out, let me know.

Massive Attack, Dark Elves inhabit forests, so we can just say that the terrain you are choosing is a small woods, not worthy of marking as a giant mass of trees on the map, but it might be a bit more difficult for you to spread outward in all of those flatlands, if you even want to spread outward.

I'm not in favor of restricting races to certain terrains, but if it is such a hard rule I will pick some other race then.

Well, traditionally Elves are forest-dwellers, but I have no problem with them being on flatlands - that can be part of your story, too - a unique Dark Elvish race that has spread from the forests. Could make for good setting.

Soory for miscounting. I'm not to good at describing things on maps.

No problem at all - I'm in the works of making our claimed territories/kingdom map. I can't decide whether to color code it for our kingdoms or to use drawn icons to mark it on the map.

I seem to remember at one point there being an "Other" category under magic. Could I send some spells I want and have you approve them and assign cost, or is the magic list now final?

The "Other" section was reserved for two sections that I have added: Summoning and Necromancy. What do you have in mind?

Ninja Dude, what is your capital hex?

So, kkmo, what is the absolute maximum number of starting territories a city-state could have?

My capital will be on N6. I'll name it Tutanbar, the Gobliniest place in the world, with backstabbing and treachery at every corner. (I expect tourism to be great:lol:)

1 and 1 only. That is why its a city-state. :) But, you can invest 50% of your economy into settling another territory (which takes 2 turns, so 2 real-life weeks, at which point researching things like Transportation might be beneficial, because then you can build roads. After 2 more territories (3 max), you'll have to stop there for a while until I open up city-state territory-grabbing season. ;) For kingdoms, it is a 12 max.

Just a note: we will start in the year 131 of the Third Age. Sekai's months are only seven days long, so each week is a month. There are 4 months in a year in Sekai (one real-life month).

I have a random question to ask you long-time NESers... is it appropriate if I open a new thread so I can give myself some more opening room at the beginning of the thread for further rules and stuff, perhaps when the NES starts up? I think I'll be adding a lot, including histories and stuff.
