Favorite UU animations

I suppose this should go over in General, but what the heck.

Favorite UU animations! I look forward to getting Impis, in part because of that wacky little dance they do. Jaguars may be even better -- yes, they're sort of pathetic as a UU, but look at them bouncing around! Where Swordsmen and Axemen just stand there, Jags are hopping with impatience to go kill something for you! And then there are the Cho-ko-nus with their rapidfire crossbows...

Yeah, I'd go with those three. But, strangely, other people may have opinions that differ! What an interesting notion. Let's see.

My vote is for the Impi. I like the uniform and the movement. It looks menacing.

I like berserks. They look kind of silly, and they get those madness-attacks sometimes, when they are shaking from impatience.

Dog soldier. Can't really explain why, except it looks like they swing their axes/clubs pretty fast and I like how they spin in circles.

you already listed my favorite! i so very much love the impi dance, those guys are too fun. they're so excited to go out and fight that they can't help it, they have to dance. how cool is that?

i like jumbos too. i heard a rumor that most people call them war elephants. btw, next time you're in game, check out the pedia entry for the Ballista Elephants. funniest one in there.

paratroopers look like they're having fun when they drop. mine never get a fortification bonus, they jump all the time. hubby thinks they might need a break every once in a while. i disagree, but to appease him i have them drop into my globe theatre city every once in a while *giggle*.

i also like how immortals twirl their staff / baton / whatever you wanna call 'em thingies around too. i think it's the immortals ... i haven't been persian in a while.

Phalanx. It's nice to see your primary attack force stab with spears for a change instead of hacking with axes.

I'd go with the Gallic Warriors, because of the axes and the tattoos. The combat animation isn't bad either.

For non-UU units, though, I'd have to point out that the new Knights are really frigging cool, especially the European style ones with lances. Nothing but helms, lances and cloaks when they're going somewhere. Also the inclusion of the Asian style Swordsmen- previously just in the Warring Kingdoms scenario- made me really happy-- their attack animation is a nice change from the normal Swordsmen. (Maybe the next patch could include some variations for the Macemen as well? Or would that be asking too much?)
