What is your favourite Christmas carol? Mine is O Holy Night. I even like the french version, Minuit Chretien. I find it embodies the essence of Christmas for me.

To me, it sounds like how a Christmas tree looks at midnight, or how those big fluffy snow flakes feel on your skin.

Mine is definitely God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.

Mostly because I like the way it sounds when I play the melody on an electric guitar :)

I despise Christmas Carols. They wouldn't be so bad if you didn't hear them incessantly for 2 months of the year.

I love Christmas carols. Since I play the organ, the ones that lend themselves to cranking up the volume and the bass pedals are the ones that I enjoy the most: O Holy Night, Do You Hear What I Hear?, What Child is This (Greensleeves), The Little Drummer Boy, etc.

I also enjoy turning Christmas carols into filksongs... :mischief:

Quoted for truth. I've learned to hate them after hearing them 6-10 hours a day, 5-6 days a week from Thanksgiving until Christmas at work.

I love all the ones you mentioned. I don't mind the one month of Christmas carols solid, it's the other 11 months I have trouble with. And I'm with the majority, O Holy Night is the best carol. It's actually probably my favorite song, period.

Some of the folks over at the Cheezburger Network have been making "Kitteh Carols" and "Catmas Carols" lols. Would anyone be interested in my posting a few here?
