So I fired up RT2 for a spell, and I wondered: what's your favourite edition? My first introduction to the series was RT2, and I never really got into the original since the user interface was tacky by comparison. I got RT3 about the same time as Civ3, and though the total hours spent with the third title were far less than the second, I nevertheless found it as enjoyable.

I immediately voted RT2 before realising I haven't played any of the others, so it's not exactly a well-informed vote.

Railroad Tycoon 2 is the best, regardless...

Hard to say. The 2nd was prettier while still having some of the fun of the 1st, but for some reason my memories of playing the 1st appeal to me way more than playing the 2nd.

I'm going with 2 because 3 refuses to work with Vista, though it has some very nice additions.

RT2, but anything that lets me run trains is fine by me.

(It's rather sad of me that I can identify so many of them off by heart, y'know.)

It does work unless you have a nVidia card. For some reason if you have the latest game patch (1.05) it makes the game no longer work with nVidia cards, so you'll have to use the last patch before the break (1.04b)
