Oh no..Lengel in a different form.

Everyone thinks Lengel. I guess it's a sign that I'm an oldtimer because I think "Mongol in stNNES III"?

That's what I think too. Lengels just got me back into the Steppe nation mood.

I think everyone who was in that NES thinks of those Mongols immediately, too. Amon, Capulet, Panda, alex, das, even Xen probably would though he was never really plagued by the Mongol hordes.

And where do you want to start, Contempt?

Be creative. I want to struggle with barbarians before ever reaching civilization. So, anywhere that's far away, and is primarily steppe.

Yes, keep him away from me ;]. Also, any chance for a reply to the diplo I posted on the previous page Cuivienen?

Your own arrogance seems to know no bounds. We might have befriended you but for your bullying attitude.

Finally got around to doing diplo...

From: Siltoria
To: Ysuly

We ask you to remain neutral in this conflict.

From: Siltoria
To: Polhinos, Tassqua

Your people suffer and starve, and you cannot hope to win a battle with no supplies, especially against our much more powerful army. We beseech you to submit yourselves to our rule. In return, you would be granted domestic autonomy, and all of the rulers would be allowed to stay in place. This choice will bring the least suffering to you and your people, and we sincerely hope you make it.

Lurker's Comment: Agreed though Xen would scoff at the military of the Mongols. In fact he denounced contempt and the mongols as "pathetic skirmishers" and things to that degree speaking of the great Tartessian Armed forces and how they would crush the "pathetic puny horse archers!" I'm disgusted with tartessos and their arrogance! Xen's eurocentricity makes north king look like a reactionary! :p

Sorry for that, just had to express xen's opinion on steppe nomads.

I see you Cuiv... answer my diplo!!!

You don't give me much time, do you?

To: Siltoria
From: Ysuly

We make no guarantees, though we will not fight unless it seems to our benefit.

Polhinos and Tassqua do not reply.

Kharchu the Invincible they called him. The supreme warlord of the Clan of the White Wolf, the man who had never been defeated in single combat. Yet, such titles they granted him belied the truth. His people were not the strongest, they were not the Supreme Clan upon the harsh steppe.

Greater clans, far more powerful than his own all surrounded his own. His own clan was weak compared to some of the larger ones, but they did not call him the Invincible for nothing. His tiny clan had fought and won against larger opponents, and absorbed them into the clan. It was expected that they would be overwhelmed, destroyed by the tide of enemies stronger than the Clan.

But he was not called Invincible for nothing.

He would fight, and become Supreme Warlord of the Steppe. The Rajahliz of the Plains, of the Horse riders. The ultimate master of this Earth.

It would be interesting to see if he could defeat the enemies arrayed before him. But he did not bother to predict the chances. He knew already in his heart. He would win. He was Invincible.

If I recall correctly he called your war with Contempt a "Skirmish War" because before the great (stalled) Mongol breakthrough it went on rather indecisively for several centuries (yes, this is a thinly-veiled advertisement of the IT-BT system :p ).

Don't really get the NK refference...
