Hello

I've played the game again after a few years and really enjoyed it.

These are a few feedbacks on the campaings:
  • There is an objective for Carthage to build a fair in Carthage but if you chose the Hannonid family for Carthage you already have one
  • Scenerio where Macedonia is conquering Greece:
    • standard events proposing you a peace are disturbing (with Thracians or Athenians, while you're at war) - maybe a stronger color coding for events could help ignore those
    • it could be good to be warned also that any settler built in any city will only be able to found an Argead city, so that we don't waste settler building in other families
    • goal: Kill five Spartan units (Optional): maybe add "military units" as only those will count
    • once you defeat Sparta it says you subdues Athenian Alliance

Same scenario, another remark: it seems some events happen after the end of the scenario, e.g. this one "Not long left":

I also note no feedback on Pharaohs campaign. So obviously it's perfect. :D

And why are you still playing after the end of the scenario? :D
I wanted to conquer Sparta and check if there would be an Easter egg :mischief:

I'm not there yet!

btw I think my post missed the most important feedback: the campaigns are awesome. The level of content is so enjoyable, I haven't felt playing something so polished since the best civ mods. I just love the content.

Yes. What's confusing is maybe that the project requires "Argead Stronghold"? That was using the word in a political sense, as in the city is an Argead political stronghold. I can see how that's not 100% clear.

Got it! Yes I thought that meant Argead family only and a tile with a stronghold. I see it on the completed project icon list now. I rarely check that icon list, as it is very discreet.

There should be one at least if he Antipater still controls cities. Will recheck.

OK that's the explanation then.
Even on a low difficulty, even with a little use of Subterfuge project and Conspire leader mission, all but one city were under control by then.

Economy is not a problem so Undermine projects allow to quickly control of cities, and the limiting factor for speed is that Olympia needs to run a mission for each city.

Even though the end of the tech tree is not useful, the interest in this scenario is more about the story than the difficulty I'd say. I've found it quite easy in hardest diff. So the event could pop in all cases. Just a suggestion.

Another small typo in Carthage 3

Playing it again after a few years, I must say this scenario is an enjoyable challenge. We're always running to the next emergency, never catching a break.

I found out that in Carthage 3, if you want to catch a breath, you just need not to wipe out the Roman expedition to Africa too quickly. It can provide turns before the next attack on Panormus, even allowing for an attack on Messana before it. However, if you get too confident, a 3rd player can move in

I'm not calling anyone sloppy :) but did you mean Roman or Carthaginian here?
As the goal is to rebuild our own economy, I would guess it is Carthaginian economy that suffered?

Not a feedback on the campaigns, but one event following a succession.

The Hannonid family was not that "often displeased with my predecessor", it's rather that the succession provides the Oligarch with a leader she doesn't appreciate at all. :)
She has an opposite Archetype and an opposite Trait with the new leader, whether she was of the same Archetype of the predecessor.

That does mean Roman - the idea is that Carthage entered the war as the economically stronger power, so the Roman economy suffered more from war, and also from having to build a navy where they basically had none. The war, at this point, has resulted in only minimal territorial changes but the hope is that a stronger Carthaginian economy lets Carthage recover more easily, while Rome won't be able to come back from all this protracted fighting

At the moment, I'm playing standard games on the real-world maps, but these screenshots evoke fond memories of the Carthage campaign I played last winter. It really showed off what can be done the Old World event system. Several Civilization games had a scenario to cover the Punic Wars ... I specifically remember those from Civilization II and IV ..., but nothing with this kind of detail. The campaign's Carthaginian perspective felt refreshing because when I was taught about this period long ago, it was from the Roman point of view. The campaign also helped me a lot to get a little bit more comfortable with larger wars which I try to avoid in standard games. One of these days, I should pick up the courage for the Greek and Egyptian campaigns which might be even more combat heavy.
