it should be visible again now, it was blank in the beginning, but the image is still there on my cg account. and its still in the post (the commant to show the image). must have been somethijng connected with cg. dont know, just try it later if it happens again.

I know people talked about marsh terrain before, but i cant remember what the verdict was. is anyone planning on aking some GOOD marsh terrain? the onle that out currently uses up a terrain, bonus and feature slot, and makes it very difficult to mod. not to mention annoying having all those marsh reouces icons in game.
 
I don't think there has been any real discussion of marshes since BtS, or since the game switched to a gamefont that opened up enough resource slots to allow us to just borrow Rhye's version if the team wanted to.

the little wings on Sphener's helmet aren't flagged as double sixed, so they're both only visible at odd angles. Basically the only face that's showing is the one that is directed at the center of the head. you cant see them at all when looking at the outward side.
 
The new sidar Ghost model is... ghetto? Why are so many units skinned in this basic black getup exactly?
 
the rathus denmora model has really nasty UV projection, can't paint any nice texture on it since the hood overlaps the torso projection so asymmetrically

I wonder if I can import this to blender, I love to fiddle with this stuff...

i dont know which wings you are talking about? can you post a screenshot?

burnish and beat the texture a bit and metalize it, and it does look like something the luichirp might make. I'm sure skilled craftsmen who get around their cities on levitating platforms don't make the blobs we have right now

if it had an environment map to look all glossy like the Mercenary's armor does... perfect.
 
well, I for my part think those dont look bad, the texture has a nice quality, but they are too futuristic and actually my next project is the clockwork golem.
I already have the concept in mind and just need some time.

but maybe with your futuristic skills you can help out the guys doing SMAC and moon mods, as they are always crying for help. cheers.

If i could suggest something for the luchuirp, for the cavalry line, maybe mechas could be used, with dwarves riding around inside...

I made the UV trying to save the more space (and I had some diffivulties with this one), so I set up the hood UV over a part of the torso. Habitually, I don't think of possible reskin possibility when I make my units but only the look that I gave him. If you want to edit him, you would have to import it in blender and remap the UV like you want.
