Seriously, the more and more I think about it, even though its based on D&D(by the way, I dont know much about it) you guys have put so much stuff into it, the story lines and everything, just wow. Far-Fetched but I could totally see a trilogy with the FFH storyline, seriously.

Agree/Diasagree?

Death, armageddon, rape, torture, plague... I'd watch that movie! :p

Hopefully the succubi would have female voices in the movie

Well...
first i could see it as a series of books.

and then, only a movie if peter jackson does it and the development team is involved ;)

Better get writing Kael! ;) :joke:

It would be nice if you could write up some of the D&D campaigns you did, so that aspiring roleplayers could use them to enrich their lives, in all seriousness :)

Hehe good luck in re-writing all of those encounters again Kael :p

Any 3rd Ed DM knows just how much more tedious encounter design became when they released this edition. Primarily because of those annoying challenge ratings. Thank god 4th ed has brought back raw XP ratings :)

Well, I didn't mean the encounters & such, I just meant the basic storyline.

I know

I just wanted to make a point :p

If FfH was to create a movie what story would you want it to cover? Understanding you only have about 2 hours to work with you can't go deep like you do with world design, you would have to pick one specific story to tell. Who would be the main character?

The Bannor's escape from Hell would be a good point, or alternatively, Basium in his quest to wipe out Hyborem (how would it end, in your opinion?), or perhaps the Elven court schism.

If this idea was ever brought onto the tables seriously, then I'd suggest a FfH series instead. A lot more can be covered in a series than in a select set of films. Lots of stories could be covered at once revolving around the world as a whole. I'd certainly love to be involved in a project like that.

Can I guess from your question, Kael, that you have (or are) considering this idea? :)

Al

It would greatly improve the popularity of FfH if it was made into a movie... And then the design team would make some money out of it too (to keep, or donate to charity if they wish). With the current market of action films, I think a film(s) based on FfH backstory would do quite well.

Let's begin a petition for a FfH series! I'd totally tune in every week!

:D

to be honest, almost every scenario designed could become a book or movie or something, even though i recon some would work better than others.

To fit the entire backgrounds story in a movie would be like trying to put the entire wheel of time series in a single movie, not doable.

The main problem with a TV series is that people from all over the world play FfH, and there are many, many different TV stations and providers. Many would get left out, which is less likely with a film.

And a movie series, or book series would do better. Magic: The Gathering has around 40 books released on it, all based on one card set each, so this is certainly doable, as they have managed to spin a long history from them.

Well, one probably should choose something where you can show more than just two or three civilizations. Perhaps the quest of some Elohim party to first find one of the special sites (like the mirror of heaven or the pool of tears or whatever) and then some bigger fights of the elohim armies that gathered around the site against one or more intruders.

The first part could lead the party through some of the different civilizations like the Balseraph, some elves and bannor under strict rule of the order-religion. You could of course throw in much more like a piratey lanun city if our adventures have to cross an ocean or a doviello tribe in a mountain range that only let's them pass if they pass some primitive, bloody initiation trial.
Possibilities would be endless!

I don't know, I was just saying some parts of the FfH history that I thought were particulaly interesting and made for good storytelling.

TV series could be broadcasted online, so that wouldn't be much of a problem.
