FfH2 0.30 Bug Thread

Indeed, thank you. I searched and found them, but what was odd was the mods were in the directory "c:\users\(my user name)\AppData(this folder doesn't even appear when I open my user name folder)\roaming\" Very confusing. I seem to have Civ IV installed in 2 different directories or something. This "roaming" folder confuses me greatly, must be some feature of Vista.

in my current game as the malakim on niki's map of erebus, several of the computer AI civs have had their alignment change from evil to neutral, and one go from good to neutral.
i have not seen them change back and forth seems to be one way.
i didnt notice it happen while i was playing, only after re-loading a saved game.

here is a screenshot:

this may be an intentional game mechanic, but it seems like it shouldnt be, as many of these evil civs have joined the overcouncil despite the restriction toward evil civs.

also in this game, there are 2 ships on castle land tiles near calabim city i just captured, though in the screenshot i just killed one with my champion

i read that kael wanted a save game of the ships on land though i dont know of a place to host the file, if someone can refer me to such a site or kael you can pm me for email contacts if you like and ill send it to you.

Just so you now:
The AppData folder is hidden, you need to change your folder options to see it.
This is where an individual users settings are stored, so that different users can have different settings (the roaming means that if you had a network setup the settings be copied to whatever computer on the network you logged onto).
Also "my documents/my games/Civ IV" is only where the same games(and more settings) are stored (this means that different users have different save games) - the game itself if probably in the program files.
Hope I've cleared confusion - not cause more.

Hi
Been playing alot of Calabim lately, and I found a few 'bugs'

Souldn't Vampires be undead? Seems pretty straight forward to me. They keep getting infected with their own Disease attack which is just silly.

Second, once I got the ability to build Vampires I could no longer build or upgrade to Moroi. What's the deal with that?

Thanks!

Hi, (usual long time reader/first time poster plattle here :) )

Playing .30e the other day, I was playing at SP Kazad, as Artus Thorne, at Warlord level, getting a feel for the game. Founded Runes of Kilmorph (which I took for my state religion), and both Empyrean and Esus religions and made the religion specific wonders in thier appropriate holy city. Joined the Overcouncil, and became the head over the Overcouncil my a majority vote (1-mine  ) After several turns, I created some Shadows from the Esus holy city and sent them into my opponents civ. While trying to sabotage an improvement, the shadow was caught and held for questioning. Immediately after this, I received a request to ask the next council vote, but much to my surprise, it was for the Undercouncil. I looked out on the "Council Members" page and found I had become the head of the Undercouncil, as well as still being the head of the Overcouncil. Not sure if this is a function of me having the Shadow or if it is a bug.

Either way, this is one of the greatest mods I have ever seen. Keep it up :worship:

Okay I have another one,

Varn Gossam just declared war on me for no reason, his diplomatic status is +15 (friendly) -5 for being at war, so he is still +10.

What caused that? Can Loki do that?

Okay all the sudden with no warning we are suddenly at peace again like nothing happened! It's crazy!

This behaviour is known as "Doing the Varn Gosam". This guy is just crazy in my eyes. He is declaring war on me for no reason all the time. Keep always some units near his boarder to be on the save side.

Yes, it seems now that certain units become obsolete. There are other examples in the game besides the one you mention. Yours affects one civ, but, even worse IMO, is obsoleting Soldiers of Kilmorph which affects any civ who adopts ROK as their religions. The Soldiers of Kilmorph are extremely valuable in mid-late game not for the military strength, but because they can be used to hurry production. They are especially useful in building that Final Altar if you have ROK.

Please make the Soldiers of Kilmorph available throughout the game!:)

I'm playing Basium in .30 for the first time and the same bugs exist from prior versions:

1. Your allies' workers have free reign in your territory. They can build what they want, and, apparently even with you selecting the "Workers leave old improvements' option, it doesn't affect your allies' workers as they build forts over farms, for example, causing you food shortages.

2. I built a Water Mana node in my territory, but the Water Mana resource was recorded for my ally. Yes, I was able to then twist his arm and get the Water Mana, but this makes no sense.

3. It is still very bizarre what happens when you take over a city with Basium. You get many buildings, but simple buildings like Markets, Elder Councils, Pagan Temples, etc. you have to build again. Sorry, but I don't get this. You should either have to re-build everything or all the buildings should be left intact.

4. Not a bug, but again I have to mention that the allies' ai is just horrible! Cassiel, my former civ, is building settlers non-stop and capturing barb cities. Most of the new cities don't even have defenders, or have a captured Bear defending (there are plenty of those in his 'army). I have to send Angels to defend these cities. As a result of this constant expansion, 'our' economy and hence our research is abysmal with any techs taking 100+ turns to discover. Needless to say, the ai civs are lapping us and then some with techs and building powerful units and getting every wonder. Oh well, our score is up there and has us in second, but the ai for allies is just bad.

Why do I even bother building the Mercurian Gate? Good question. In some games when you fall behind, IMO, getting Basium is the great equalizer. Give him a couple of strong Angels, a priest/medic unit, and he can run the table with the poor defenses most ai civs have. Still, it is just maddening having to deal with you allies' bonehead moves. :crazyeye:

30f, I got the event for the wandering enchanter, and I actually had enuf gold to hire him (third option). The melee unit received the enchantment 1 promo instead of enchanted blade. Also, the adept started in my capitol, not where the unit was (took me a moment to find him).

I have patch 3.13, patch "f", and the latest direct x, but my game keeps crashing right after the into screen "The Age Of Ice Has Ended". Anyone know what might be wrong?

I was building the Bone Palace in one of my cities when I got an event that there was someone speaking out against the government in the city. I was 5 turns away from finishing the Bone Palace (and I was playing on marathon, so had been waiting a while for it).

I chose to publicly debate him, and luckily got the good outcome, believe it was an extra happiness for 5 turns. However, I noticed that my Bone Palace progress had been reset to 0 and I had to start all over again with it!

Ive got a very strange bug in my last game, however it stayed in the new one aswell.

Most of my units just display their default skins. E.g. my amurite warriors display those guys with clubs, same with heroes. The selected unit always dispays correct skin.

Happened after i played a bit with the worldbuilder in the last game as sidar, but it keeps on going. Anyone experienced this?

Might be that the change of graphic options to lower settings had this influence on it?

I already tried deleting custom assets and application data, but to no effect.

Thanks for any help with this...

I cannot find any reference.. why can we not resume multiplayer saves without clients connected to the host recieving " failed to uncompress game data"?
