FfH2 Bug Thread

Memory allocation errors were the type I got when I was reloading the game many times during play(it has been a couple of months since then). It was usually enough to reboot(at most). My advice is: Do not reload...And it may help if you kept a pagefile of, at least, 4.5 GB up to a max of 6 GB or more, available...
 
I got quite a resilient crash to desktop that must be caused by some AI-event. I use Windows XP and just patched from "p" to "q". I play balseraphs on deity and got only 50 turns to go to cultural victory. When I press "Enter", the game evaporates. I tried earlier autosaves and succeeded to get about 20 turns more, maybe I´ll even be able to finish the game that way, but principally I could not work around this crash, no matter whether I declare war or change religion.

I keep crashing playing Faeryl Viconia....I don't crash as Auric, almost completed a game with him in fact (patch q), but every game I start with Faeryl CTDs on me after some point in the game. My most recent game crashes at the as soon as I end my turn from Turn 112 to Turn 113. I'm running no modmods or other changes, straight FFH install plus patch q, no media pack even. Any ideas as to why this keeps happening with the Dark Elves? Are the Light Elf pansies trying to keep us down again? :)
 
I don't seem to be getting the extra skeletons from the Tower of Necromancy.

Playing Sidar, patch q.

Shadow mana from palace, death mana from Broken Sepulcher, built an adept to make an entropy node and a chaos node, built the Tower of Necromancy, built 4 adepts that got death 1 for free. I am now able to summon 4 strong skeletons, but no more. I should be able to summon 9 correct?

Might it be because I didn't have any adepts with death 1 before the Tower was built?
 
Horsemen of the apocalypse can fly. One of them got on top of that peak, attacked something and lost.

Nope... They never showed up in that game. The highest AC I got was about 20 pts. It may have been Mokka, although I never saw him get there.

In that case I would wager you used the worldbuilder, and made Athame spawn by accident.

Done it myself before. :P
 
That's possible. I think I did use WB for who-knows-what reason. I've been playing at Prince level in the past weeks, which is far more interesting/challenging then Noble, but then of course the occasional mega-stack of doom shows up on your doorstep once in a while. Perhaps the AI got this really good deal on E-Bay for lots of units. I think I will block internet access on my computer to make sure the AI doesn't pull this off on me again! :lol:
 
Ok, so in a game with the Amurites and I'm going for a Tower of Mastery vistory (trying to get some more trophies.) I'm building the Tower of Necromancy, and and I'm 300 hammers in when I get told I can no longer build it. I no longer have Shadow and Entropy Mana. Both are coming from upgraded Mana Nodes, which are both still upgraded. I have Chaos Mana coming from a similar node, and it's still showing as a resource. I've attached a save game.

EDIT: Oh yeah, patch q, and I have used the WorldBuilder.

I'm guessing you joined the Over Council and that they have declared them illegal.

Yep. I loaded his save, removed him from the overcouncil and they were working again.
 
Oh, you have NO idea how Emperor is then. Damn you, Falamar! :lol:

Emperor is just too tough for me to enjoy the glory of shameless wins without sacrificing the illusion of a good challenge! ;)

Besides, I noticed the game runs much more slowly at Prince (compared with Noble), which probably has to do with the greater numbers of AI units spamming the map. I anticipate with much trepidation how much slower an Emperor game would be on my old computer.
 
No crash for me.

Right, thanks for checking. Not at all surprised it's an internal system issue as w/ all MAFs, but it seemed odd to me in that every time I selected the summer palace it crashed. I maintain a large page file as suggested, and try not to reload except for the ridiculous WTH battle results. Perhaps the MAF should be listed in the first post under system issues?

I didnt get a crash switching to no religion with this save game, btu Vista is way pickier than XP is. I did find another problem from this game with soem missing graphics that may be a part of your problem. So Im going to fix that in the next patch and hopefully that will fix your issue too.

Thanks for the welcome and the quick response, I guess I just have to hope the missing graphics is the problem.
