FfH2 Bug Thread

An update: the wild mana merge is complete (mostly pulling all of Sephi's awesome ai improvements).

Any chance of taking a look at Skyre's old AI mod and seeing what he did with the naval AI? I don't think any of that was incorporated into Wild Mana, so the AI still has issues with settling and attacking lands across the ocean.

notque's mod also had great improvements in the naval side of things. Turinturambar's latest version teaches the AI how to use crews. and raising the cargo space of all ships by 2 like in FF also helps a lot.

lessee here ... Hyborem no longer OOs'es ... New beast of Agares unit ... I certainly know what I want to do next game xD

Is there a way to keep the mushroom event from triggering on a city square? This keeps happening to me, and it's completely pointless because the tile yield doesn't change. Instead of being a nice event, it's wasted.

Mushrooms that trigger on a Grassland Hill city will raise the :food: output from 2 to 3. If it triggers on a Plains Hill city there is no increase, but you might later choose to Vitalize the tile to Grassland for an additional :food: (at the cost of a :hammers:). I prefer the event to trigger on my cities, since the Mushroom then can't be pillaged and isn't taking up a tile that I would normally Mine for increased :hammers:.

Aren't Mushrooms an Improvement in FfH? I know they are in FF... If so, having the event occur on a city will do nothing for you.

In Orbis and FFPlus, Mushrooms are a resource... So they actually help cities. Or help mines produce hammers AND food, in FFPlus at least... Not sure about Orbis there. ;)

I see. Thanks for the explanation.

I believe they are an improvement, yes. Nevertheless, they can change the city tile food production in the manner I described.

Shh! If mushrooms stop growing in cities, maybe those Muris goblins will stop dumping their crap on mountain peaks and actually dump them on tiles I might use!

I recently ran into a bug that prevents me from ending my turn, it happend after using taunt, any ideas what might have done it or is there a way to fix it?

Unfortunately this bug has been reported by other people also, see for instance posts 1523 and 2237. I don't think there is a work around yet.

I try to keep a list of reported bugs here:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=329991. I try to update it every few weeks.

Ah ok, sorry for the useless post but the search showed me masses of unrelated topics.

Getting a CtD at the end of this turn. Went into WorldBuilder and looked around but didn't see anything unusual that might explain it.

EDIT: Playing 0.41g.

Nor'easter,

It played fine for me, no crash. I suspect then that you had a 'resource' crash, it took me a while to load.

Note that you won a Tower Victory that turn.

CTD on patch "g". Occurs after end of turn

Codediddler,

I also had no trouble playing your game.

The only mention of this i could find dates back to version .34, where someone mentions lightbringers don't benefit from potency, i.e. no free experience, someone else commented priests of winter also fail to get the benefit, kael replied that priests of winter were intended to not get the benefit, but he would change it because it was confusing, unfortunately no comment was made about lightbringers.

if they are supposed to benefit from potency, they don't, its a bug

if they aren't supposed to benefit, its confusing, atleast as confusing as priests of winter not getting it, and some clarity in the description about potency or about lightbringers would be nice(especially since currently potency only talks about benefiting spell casters)

edit:

Crusaders(Order), whcih are also listed as disciple units, do not benefit from the free experience from potency. I'd wager the paramander(Rok) probably doesn't either, if not all the pseudo disciple units(paladins, eidolons, etc)

Maybe it's something with my computer, then, thanks for checking. I'm surprised, since I have 4GB RAM and a dual-core 2.4 GHz processor -- usually don't have resource problems, but there's always a first, I guess.

Don't be sorry, often it is good to report a confirmation of a discovered bug so that people can be clear it isn't an isolated case.
