FfH2 Bug Thread

Are tar demons supposed to be invisible? Not the invisible promotion, mind you, but as far as I can tell, there is no unit graphic for them.
 
It's a great prophet shrunk down to 1 pixel with a bunch of special effects surrounding it. If you have effects off, you won't see them.
 
There is a copy/paste error in CvBuildingInfo::read (patch t, line 11036) in the loop that handles commerce bonuses from specialists. SetYields is being used to set the values instead of SetCommerce. Since there are 3 yield types and 4 commerce types the fourth value (espionage) is not being set. This has been masked under Windows by the runtime zeroing the memory but under Linux that doesn't happen and the result is random espionage bonuses for buildings that grant bonuses to specialists, e.g. The Great Library.

Good catch, I'll include the fix in the next patch.
 
At the time of this query, I am using patch u. I attacked Orthus with a warrior. That warrior leveled up until there were no more options. Each time a new bonus was added, I could level up that unit.

Then patch your game again. Patch "v" fixes this bug.
 
I was playing a game, and I saw that Thessia had demons. How did she get these?

I was playing with No AI building requirements. In the past, I've seen Basium build Beast of Agares... Is it possible Thessia built Demonic Citizens in her city?

She has Mokka's Cauldron I imagine. I saw her build it a few games back, and when it was her last city left I noticed it had a bunch of Demon Longbowmen and Assassins. Which is odd as I thought they were supposed to come back as golems or undead or something.

Another case of outdated pedia information - they come back as demons now.

Really wish these entries would at least be *removed* until the correct ones are written in - surely giving out wrong information is worse than no information?
 
The civilopedia entry for Clan of Embers Axemen says that they can upgrade to both Chariots and Ogres. I can upgrade to Chariots, but not Ogres, even though Ogres can still be built.

It's because you can and can't upgrade. :P

Normally axemen/swordsmen can upgrade into that civ's champion unit (which is presumably why the button appears there) but the Clan are not able to (I believe this is intentional.)

After playing a full game as Elohim and building these in each major city, and building lots of units (~100), not a single unit got the defensive promotion. Either my 25% chance luck is really bad, or it doesn't work. I suspect the latter.

Also, with only a 25% chance for defensive trait for built units, the building is probably not worth it at its current cost anyway since by the time in the game you can build it, the 25% defensive bonus is easily nullified with a catapult or fireball. Probably the reason no one complains yet is that no one else thinks that the building is worth it either.

I am getting a CTD. I am currently running patch T (started this game before u/v were released) and it is a scenario (I think Lord of Balors). I have attached 2 files, turn 331 is the previous turn. After moving units and clicking end turn the game crashed. Everytime I try to load the autosave for turn 332 I get an immediate CTD.

Patch u and patch v won't break saved games, so you might try updating and see if you still get the crash.
 
There appears to be a problem with multiplayer over LAN. Two weeks ago MP worked fine (not sure which patch). Then last week it was broken (Patch S). We can't see the other person's game. I thought it was a firewall issue at first but it works fine if we unload FFH2 and just use normal BTS. Updating to Patch V didn't change it either,
 
Im glad to look at the team stuff. Let me know if you see wonders that arent applying bonuses to teams (though I will warn that some may only be intended to effect one player) or world spells that negatively effect teammates.

I haven't been able to get any more details for you on multiplayer games since we can't get a multiplayer game to run anymore on the LAN. We can play a normal BTS game over the LAN, but FfH (patch v now) does not work.
 
I installed patch v and I cannot load any of my save games from patch t. When I try to load a game I get a runtime error and Civ4.exe shuts down. The info says that it will not break save games, but it may be incorrect.
