He's looking for people to play the role of various gods in a Divine Intervention game. See here for an example.

I would like to give my hand as a god. But I'm not exactly sure which to pick. If a more experienced player wishes to pick the god I'm currently as, I'll gladly step down. I think I'll pick Arawn, but will switch to Lugus, Sirona, Oghma, Danalin, or Mammon if somebody else wants Arawn.

Currently: Arawn

You do realize that playing as Arawn means only being an honorary player who never actually intervenes in the game, right? (That's why I chose him last time.)

Yup. Untill the world goes to hell and Laroth finally manages to overthrow me, at least. But as Arawn, If I wanted to intervene in any capacity , it would probably have to be through Gyra and the intervention, inconsequential at best. It depends, I might switch depending on how busy I get. If you want to play as Arawn Magister, I'll be happy to let you play as him.

In which case, I would instead play as Sirona. Lugus may be a bit too much responsibility and I'd rather leave that for a player with more experience, unless nobody else picks him.

I would like to play as Ceridwen this time. I want to try being evil for a change.

edit: Also, this time around I wanted to make a suggestion. Just to make sure the changes being made by the gods are not over powered, I think having one of the gods be a mediator would be helpful. They would basically be the last person to look over the save each time to make sure it was balanced and that units had the correct AI. Thematically, this should probably be Dagda.

Also, try and stick to your own domains, gods. No ice powered mages working for Bhall, or chaos marauders helping out Junil.

Hmmm .... well, last time I was Tali ... However this time I think I will give a shot at Agares

Hmm I'll take Mammon, could use some more info about what we can do and stuff though.

There's a list of rules, but basically, its fairly simple:
  • Dont be overly generous, and make the player work for his rewards.
  • RESTRAINT. A small change will have a greater impact than a larger one. Give the player the tool, dont do the work for him. Create a choke point, not an entire peninsula. I recall when I founded OO, and then Danalin gave me the Necronomicon for free. Dont do that. Give me a quest to obtain a G.Prophet, and make it tough!
  • If the player disregards divine order, punish him! But dont make it obscene. I recall the first FfHDI where somebody let lose a dozen Dragon Treants (Str 12, Move 3) with the wrong AI and it rampaged throughout nearly everybody's lands. Like wise, I avoided Agares's request and he dropped a Volcano in my territory.
  • Dont be wantonly throwing things around that disrupts other gods plans. Co-operate, compete, but dont cover up another god's work with your own.
  • Give the player choices- Cerdiwen gave me a quest where I had to chose to either liberate a Balseraph city from barbarian control, or let it be a real thorn in their side. That was a quest that really made me think for a few hours weighing the pros and cons, and I really wish my computer hadnt died when I was posting the report.
  • Respect other god's handiwork. Dont muck about with their quests and plans, there's room for everyone.

There are more, but thats the basic gist of it.

As the God of Greed, you should punish players who are generous. You should also try to keep the strong strong and the weak weak, or at least the poor poor and the rich rich.

Mammon doesn't like his followers to have a clue that they are worshiping him, so I don't really see him as the type to give quests.

I remember that the first Mammon did decide to play around with the idea of "Loaning" gold to the player. That might be a good starting point to figure out what Mammon would do.

Magister, did you want to take Arawn again or may I?

Damnit, I wanted Esus! Grrrr! ;-) Can we get the OP updated with who is left? I may still want to try if another piques my interest.
