Final Fixes Reborn

ok, so i understand where the crash comes from, somehow the khazad got hold of four corporations but there are no headquarters visible, which cause issues when handling stuff. So, as a quickfix, you can just worldbuilder out the four corporations from Khazak.

Now to understand how they could get them. No worldbuilder on your part on that save ?
 
I did use the world builder before that save but I thought I did not do anything significant.

I doubt that I could have added those guilds accidentally to that city, as I did nothing even remotely similar. So I have no idea how these guilds got into that city.

Thanks a lot for your fast and effective investigation! Removing the guilds stopped the crash.
 
I got attacked in my territory by a demonic shadow in the early game. I don't know where it came from, it seems to have spawned.
Of course such a tier 4 unit is OP in the early game. Is this a balancing bug?
 
I also just got attacked by a demonic shadow early in the game. RIP good start.

Still does not beat the time when i was playing online with some friends and spawn a immortal ogre from a lair very close to me. Took me like an hour to figure out how to kill it. lol
 
I should mention that I do seem to get crashes sometimes when I start up a game with 20 civs on a huge map. Though it does not happen all the time.

yeah. I tried it again using the same settings 6 times, but it only crashed once. I was using the Erebus_107b_mst map script, 20 AI, with 40% less peaks, Living World, All Unique Features, Broader Alignments, Flavour Start, Dark Forest, and the Scions are set to human only in restricted random civs
 
did a few tests. From what i can gather, it comes from the maps code, i narrowed it to one of the methods, but i don't know map code enough to understand what's causing trouble exactly (and i have no useful log). So i'll keep it on my todo list, but i can't guarantee i'll get a fix soon
 
Also I seem to get the same issue as Red Boxer with no text appearing when encountering a civ. The Solution to deleting the .dll and text folder seem to work, but I seem to have to do it all the time when I check for updates for the mod using SNV.
 
The shadow apparently comes from letting the unicorn live in the event. I read this princess rule stuff, and I don't like it at all. I would prefer more flair. Playing the elves letting a unicorn live you get a shadow killing you? No, thats just not well done.

Edit: So you set the chance for shadow 0? Is anything else happening instead? Like happiness in the city due to the spotting of the unicorn? Or is it just nothing? Sorry I still do not understand how to track events in the xml.
 
the princess rule event is a joke based on a design rule that was used in base ffh and most of the modmods . The general idea was that anything that can be found in the room of an eight-year old girl couldn't survive in Erebus. Thus the unicorn dies in every possible choice, except in the one where it isn't an unicorn ^^

The no text issue when encountering a new civ happened to me as well before I played a play now game. For me somehow remnants of a different mod were somehow messing up something. Selecting Play now resets these things.

Yes, this is what I meant by I read this princess rule stuff, and I don't like it at all.
 
Well, that's not going anywhere ^^. The event itself originally didn't have the trap unicorn choice but it was requested by some people. (in its place, there was a choice that was always locked)
 
then maybe reverting to the old "choice not available" could be nice...

then, IIRC there was discussion of the following:

"let the unicorn live" : smallish happiness (2 turns) for a happy spotting
next turn, new event : "your hunters / scouts spotted the remains of the unicorn, it has been so savagely mauled that the land is desacrated ; it seems scavenger from everywhere are drawn to the place".

then, you get : random big animal (lion pride/tiger/wolf ) with strong and Heroic attack/defense 1 or 2 : total 5-7 str... and a pack of hyenas. (and with HN so they move in your territory).

maybe even a -1F on the tile ?

true...
the hyenas are always nasty, ... due to being diseased.. but in later tech version, they could carry plagued / wither ... or any longer lasting illnesses.

and the big bad animal can be
wolf/lion/tiger
drake
Ogre ?
werwolf ?
