Final Fixes Reborn

Sorry is this was already answered somewhere else. I played for some time the Standard version of the game. I deleted it and installed the Beta Version. Every time I open the game I get some errors (attachd bellow ) regarding the Dural, Frozen and MoreEvents modules. Should I deactivate them?

PS: I don't play on the Steam Version of the game. It's the regular one. I've deleted the cache files and tried again.Still the same.I've also updated the schema files.

I can see them in the civilopedia, but when I want to start a custom game I can't see the option to chose The Frozen.

EDIT:

In the Civilopedia, at the Unique Units category, the Hippus merc units are not shown. I can only see Magnadine's square. It seems the unit is not in the game

don't be sorry, you uncovered an actual error, those schemas are outdated ( i have no idea why i never got the error myself though...). till next beta version ( by the end of the week-end normally), you should deactivate them yeah.

The frozen are like infernals and mercurians, a summonable civ. You summon them by finishing the Liberation ritual.

There is no specific mercenary unit anymore. Instead, there is now a mercenary menu where you can hire troops. hippus get a discount on those troops and can send their own units to gain cash as mercenaries.

Ok. Hope the mercenary model get's recycled. Really liked that one. Thanks for the clarifications.

EDIT:

Don't want to be bothersome, but it seems that every time I want to recruit a Ranger as D'tesh I get an error and the game closes. The same happens if I try to put a Ranger through the WordBuilder on the map when playing as D'tesh. I can see the model in the Civilopedia and the unit info.

I don't know if it has something to do with the other errors I'm getting. Gonna try to reinstall everything and see if it persists. If it does, I'll wait the next revision and come back with more info.

EDIT 2:

It seems the issue is unreladed to the schema ones. I've reinstalled the game without updating the schemas and launched a game as The Legion Of D'tesh. When I tried to put a Ranger on the map the game crashed.

ok, new revision is up ( n294). are included :
-numerous fixes, including for some crash issue with the mercenaries.
-some new pedia texts
-the first part of the complete AI personality rebalance.
-the second part of the underworld update :
-The netherblade now prevents resurrection for all units killed. If you acquire the netherblade as a non-sidar, you can break it to unbind said units, which will now be available to resurrection.
- Basium gets the Clava Vindex, a weapon that prevents Demons from resurrection and evil units from being turned into manes. If you're a Veil civ and acquire the Clava Vindex, you can destroy it to free the Demons and evil souls who will join the Infernals.

Next revision will probably be smaller with a few more things about Underworld 2 ( i'm gonna improve the breaking possibilities through small quests), some event stuff and an emergent leader

Updated to n294. The modules errors in the beginning stopped appearing. The crash related to the D'tesh Ranger still happens every time. Tried to directly put the unit on the map through the World Builder. Tried going through all the necessary tech for the Hunting Loge, build it and then tried to recruit the D'tesh ranger. Tried also upgrading a Hunter to Ranger. Every time the game crashed.

Hi, I just downloaded this mod today although I've played various Fall From Heaven 2 mods for quite some time. I am having an issue while playing this mod. Whenever I play a game the religion technologies (ie Way of the Forests) are blocked and I am unable to research them at all. Perhaps this has already been answered elsewhere in the thread and if so I apologize but I was wondering if someone could help me with this. (I play Civ IV through Steam)

If I'm not mistaken, in the standard version of the mod those techs are shown regardless if you can research them or not. Be sure you're not playing a civ that can't research religions like the Mechanos or Grigori.

I don't know how things where in FFH2 and other mods (Ashes of Erebus is my first contact with this setting) but in AoE you need to unlock 2 other techs before being able to research the religious ones. For example to be able to research The Way Of The Forrests you must first research Hunting and Mysticism. If you do this and then you are the first who researches The Way Of The Forrests then you found the Fellowship of Leaves religion. The same rules apply for the other ones.

Remember - the Civilopedia is your best friend. You'll find everything you need in there.

Yes, I have researched the prerequisites for the technology and am not playing a civilization unable to research or adopt a religion but it is still red and does not present me an option to research it at all, first or otherwise. The only two technologies open to be associated with religion happen to be the Ashen Veil and the Emperyean (sp?) one. These two are able to be researched but Way of the Forests, while playing as the elves (the ones that start with an 'L' I'm blanking on the name right now) and having researched Hunting and Mysticism the option is still missing and when looking at the tech tree the technology itself is red and unable to be selected.

Try starting a game of Ashes of Erebus using "Play Now" if you haven't already. I've seen people on these forums recommend doing that when playing a new mod, to clear out hidden options from other mods you might have been playing.

Nor'easter is right. It's most likely a hidden option issue. when you change mods, the game remembers the order your options were selected, but since the list of options change from mod to mod. Occasionally, the game activates hidden options. Starting a Play Now game when you change mods is a good way to reset those.

Any chance you could maybe make monstrous creature disable the animal blood ability? kinda annoying to capture fenris or the rhamnosaurus and accidentally kill them to dish out a promotion to someone. (Also maybe give 'Boar hero' a name? I suggest Grums)

Thank you Nor'Easter and black_imperator. The Play Now option worked. Also, thank you for explaining why it is that it worked. I appreciate the help.

If noone has an issue with this, i don't mind.

You're welcome ^^

I would also like to point out that I start a "Play Now" almost every time I start the game since I play multiple save games. Seems to help as sometimes I will start a game when forgetting to start a dummy "Play Now" game and all the diplomacy options are blank or there is a no UI bug.

Hi guys,

I'm missing some fall from heaven it's been a while since I played Ashes of Erebus, I'm happy and grateful to find it's still being worked on. Are there any plans to release a standard version with all the accumulated fixes so far and not have to use SVN? Thanks.

I've also thought that "Boar Hero" should be changed. I'd suggest something like The Caledonian Boar, a good name out of Greek mythology. The mod already references Greek mythology (centaurs, minotaurs), Norse mythology (Ljosalfar, Svartalfar, Frost Giants), and Celtic mythology (Cernunnos, Oghma), so wouldn't be out of place, I don't think.

when i get to something stable and relatively balanced, principally with the emergent leaders. At this point, svn is way easier to work with for me to make quick balance changes. There is a way to downlaod the latest version without using svn though: go here https://sourceforge.net/p/ashesoferebus/code/HEAD/tree/ and click download snapshot. It'll be a download of the current state of the code. The negative point is you'll have to download the whole thing each time there's an update.

For the Boar, since people want a name change, i'll get to it. I'm not too fond of the Caledonian Boar idea as it's too specific a reference i think.

apart from that, i'm tweaking Duin at the moment and preparing a Hippus emergent Leader.

Any feedback on the latest version ?

Mercenary system is awesome! I did notice a couple glitches here and there.

The one that stands out in my memory is, upon choosing to join the Infernal when you join them the City of Dis is accessible but completely covered by fog of war until you move all the way to explorable areas. Granted it was only about 2-3 turns of movement but still a bit aggravating.
