This was a patch that was released to a few people to review and IS NOT an official patch release. If you do download it, YOU MUST INSTALL V1.12 FIRST!

To prevent too much confusion regarding the patches, the next one will not be released until the end of next week. It will be a full Beta patch (as opposed to v1.13 which is just an update) and include all of the required files.

PLEASE NOTE: v1.13 has an altered corruption calculation so dont be surprised if it feels very different.

A full non-Beta patch version will be released at the end of February.

Thanks for the support!

This one should be sticky so that people are aware about the nature of V1.13.

Agreed! ;) --Padma

I think that with the next beta there should also be an official warrant that it will be the only necessary patch on top of vanilla conquests, since having to install 1.02 then 1.12 then 1.xx is a bit too much.

Since the next one will be a Beta as well, I wouldn't rely on that....
That's the price, we have to pay for getting intermediate patches, I'd guess.

I am sure the *final* patch will incorporate all earlier patches, just like normal. :)

Beta patches are just that: patches for beta-testing. They are not guaranteed to be even stable (although by the time they are in beta, they should be ;) ). The 1.13 patch isn't even an official patch. It is "Alpha" at best. It is common practice to have to apply test patches consecutively like that.

Even though our opinion is not asked, it not only feels different, it actually feels very good from a couple of hours of gameplay in Rise of Rome with new corruption. These changes can certainly compensate for lack of rank sharing. It is indeed very good.

So 1.13 is less official then 1.12 which was beta that was posted on atarisupport.com ?

Can we expect that next patch become as official as 1.12 (posted at atarisupport.com)?

The next patch will be posted on atarisupport and will include all of the patch files. Even with v1.12 you do not need to install the ROW 1.01/1.02 patches prior to installing.

I promise that this whole process will become simpler as time progresses. Most people may not wish to play a BETA version, but those that are willing to help us out tremendously by finding important issues quickly. For those that aren't interested, the 1st non-Beta patch is scheduled for mid-end Feb.

Thanks for the support!

Jesse,
Here is hoping that the upcoming beta-patch will allow for (ahem) those that installed the faux-1.13 patch; or documentation as to uninstall/reinstallation instructions, as necessary.

I am thankful for this "teaching" incident.

Ah-ha, the end of February. I do not install Beta Patches, have had bad experiences with them, but Thank You anyway Firaxis. I shall wait for the Final Patche at th end of February.

Oooh. If only I'd noticed this last night, I would have installed it already... :)

Thanks Tavis & the team -- I look forward to trying it out!

I just wanted to say that I'm really happy about your support Jesse. Its good to have those patches available for us that cannot wait until the official patch.

Indeedy. I'm a happy customer again, ready to pre-order Civ4

TheNiceOne, check your PM. :)

Well I just hope that I can use the next patch without the game asking me for the CD each time that I try and launch it. Hope that you are looking at the possible regional / copy protection issues :)

When the official patch comes out in a couple days, will those who loaded the 1.02/1.12/1.13 patches have to uninstall these patches before loading or can you just load on top of the beta patches.

I'm guessing:
