You know that I'm contemplating removing it just so you can't enjoy it, right Ninja?
Also, no Best RP Character this year.
/the privileges of being the conductor of the process and ceremony, ahhh...
What point? He didn't list any! He just listed "seriously, again?". Nothing more, nothing less.
It would be like me listing Tani's nation and his cast of characters the "worst of x" just because he incorporated elements of the Sonic Franchise (including the infamous Enerjak) into his plays and listing my reasons as "seriously, again?". Same with Mosh's Angolia. But I don't belittle other people for their choice on their nations and their themes and actually refrain from voting for the worst whatever category.
I'd be more open of the idea of constructive criticism if it's on improving my RP. To be honest, I want to improve upon my own role play (I know that I am of a melecore status when it comes to this in comparison to Thor). But stating that the worst nation is because the player in question repeatedly uses it (I know I'm not guilty of this since I know Mosher, Kinch and others have done so) is, IMO, no good way to help the player improve other than make the other person get discouraged and disheartened about their nation choice.
Listing a nation that's solely a repeat is not a good way to convey any sort of constructive criticism. I know SamSniped listed mines as honorable mention and listed "Coruscant could use a break" That's absolutely acceptable and I'm cool with that. But stating "Seriously, Again?" as the reason for the worst country, is in itself rude and inconsiderate to the player who have played that nation. I have my moments of "Seriously, Again?" moments with Tani and his Enerjak, but I simply just bite my tongue and roll with it.
I really don't understand why people get so annoyed at nations that get reused. And CivGeneral obviously puts a fair amount of work into his RPs, so I don't understand why it's even been nominated for worst nation.
I say that we don't get rid of the "Worst Nation" catergory, but we automatically give it to my spammiest nation in the year so we can stop all the strife of voting. Come on. You know you want to.
I would disagree with you on that segment that hardly anyone sees any differences in each game. I typically go with a fresh start segment in a newer non-IOT:MP game (E.g. basically starting from a clean slate with no connection with the previous IOT game), while in a IOT:MP game, I do take into account of what has happened outside the time bubble! In IOT:MP3, I've taken a radical approach and started a completely different new nation. I'd also remind you that I haven't made the same nation in every game. In previous IOTs, I've actually played other nations that are not of Coruscant. The NCR, The Third German Republic, and others prior to IOT:MP 1.Well, CivG, you make the same nation pretty much every game. Hardly anyone really sees any differences from Coruscant in one game or the other, it's like you're playing the same game over and over in a little time bubble with little regard to what's outside of the bubble.
Moderator Action: "Otherwise". Not a good idea.Insofar there's only been to people against this "Worse" Awards, so I'm going to keep'em unless the mods say otherwise. Think of'em as the Razzies. Hey, we could even think of a separate name.
Yes it was.Wow. What should have been a nice jesture has turned into a possible flame war. I'm starting to think that the Worst RP awards was a TERRIBLE idea. Everyone's posts that "justify" why the award should be given to someone has been along the lines of "It sucks, it's boring and I hate it". Quite the opposite of the intended "constructive criticism". And Joan, considering how you were saying "I WANT PEOPLE TO READ MY RP" in MP III the other day, saying that you don't read someone else's RP is mighty hypocritical of you.
You are correct.See, this is why you don't have "worst of" awards. Nothing good comes out of it.
