First Look: The Development Team Video

Pretty good resolution. I definitely think that #18 looks like Peter the Great. Gandhi looks like #12. Teddy is obviously #1.

#17 looks like a Roman bust?

If this is a portrait wall of leaders, we should expect to see the other announced leaders. Can anyone identify Qin Shi Huang, Hojo Tokimune, Victoria, or Cleopatra? #5 might be old Victoria? Or maybe #7 is a younger Victoria?

#8 looks to have a ruff about their neck. So perhaps a 16th/17th century European leader.

#5 is Qin Shi Huang and #7 is Vic

#6 looks like Tecumseh.

#12 is Gandhi, India. Japan should follow him
That means Inca are not in, because #11 is definitely Greece.

Also, between England and Greece, one would expect to find both France and Germany. Is #9 Joan Of Arc (France)?

I would say No. 4 is Bolívar.
Bolivia (begins with B) sits right inbetween Aztec (No. 3) and China (No.5)

new civilization, and big personality
Doesn't fit, though. Bolivar was in Colombia if I'm not mistaken, which should be after China, not before. So if civilization is Bolivia, it gotta be someone else (possibly Andrés de Santa Cruz), but the image does look like a striking match with the image of Pedro (Brazil) posted here.

Yes I agree with you. Brazil fits into the position. (So does Canada, if it's a new civilization).

Canada is an interesting guess, but definitely looks like an 19th-centure royal/military garb. Would that make sense?

Love how improvements change when they are being worked by citizens.

I can't help but think that the shot of the leaders on the wall was deliberate. Someone at Firaxis probably thought: "heck, let's have the camera pan quickly to some blurry concept art of all the leaders. That'll keep those civfanatics busy speculating all the way to release date." :D

Actually, I think this is a slip. It does seem to ruin a lot of their fun with gradually revealing civs and leaders. Iirc. they said that back in the days with BnW, when people found the alfabet list from the Steam achievements, that was definitely not planned.

I am sure the first look videos will still hold some surprises for us. I doubt we've figured it all out perfectly. But if it was a slip, why have the video show us the offices with concept art on the walls in the first place? Surely, Firaxis knows that fans will study every frame to find every little morsel of new info.

Oof! I'm actually slightly sad to have such a big spoiler (if that's what it is). Was expecting to find out a couple hints about unrevealed civs, but not all at once... not that I have the willpower not to read these threads. [emoji14]

Two takeaways from this:

1) I'm loving the graphics and look of this game more and more all the time.

2) Ed Beach says 'we read the forums more than you'd think'?

That's it, I'm never going to stop asking for my 'Ancient Civilizations' game!!!

Well, if it is as moddable as they are claiming ( they said the same about xcom and it was definitely true) then the sky is the limit for modding in all sorts of scenarios, like all ancient civs and such.
