five favorite games of all time......

i played FF 1 first also, although i will admit seven really did break away from the tradition of the franchise i still think it was the best.

no you dont FF is the greatest and there's nothing wrong with liking it.

Yes there is

Legacy of Mana
Front Mission 3

Square games which trump FF

also...dragon warrior (especially number 7) by Enix is another superior series, atleast IMHO

Just 5? That's a though one. Here's my top five in random order:

Beyond Good & Evil (there is no better action-adventure hybrid than this one, allthough Outcast comes close...)
TrackMania Sunrise (My girlfriend is better at it than I  )
Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games (Turn-based perfection, closely followed by Advance Wars (GBA))
Zelda III - A Link to the Past (being arachnaphobic I never played OoT)
Grim Fandango (Adventure perfection!)

And a list of follow-ups:
Age of Empires II, Civ3, Commandos 2, GTA (everyone of them), Prince of Persia, PoP Sands of Time, Grand Prix II, Aces over Europe, BlockOut, Goldeneye, Super Mario World (SNES) etc. etc. etc.

Master of Magic
Civilization Series
Final Fantasy VII
Total Annihilation
Baldur's Gate Series

slightly ot

first FF game I played was 2, did not care for it much. Loved 3, perhaps more than 7, but seven was really good, and the advanced graphics and materia made up for the lesser (but still good) storyline.

Civilization series
Myst series
Dungeons & Dragons
SimCity series
Castles: Siege and Conquest

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
Legend of Zelda Wind Waker
Banjo Kazzooie series (with original and Grunty's Revenge)
StarCraft series (original and Brood War)
as of now, Knights of Honor, tighta** game for PC.

1) Any of the Final Fantasy games will rank before anything else (VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, etc.). I've always been a huge fan of the Final Fantasy games, and I've played every one of them except 3(japanese numbering).

2) NeverWinter Nights

3) KOTOR (and KOTOR 2)

4) Warcraft III

5) Unreal Tournament

Civilization doesn't even make the cut.

Also, with all of the Final Fantasy supporters showing up in this thread, maybe we can talk TF into letting us have a Final Fantasy forum?

Im gonna have to say... of the top of my head

1. Final Fantasy VI
2. Final Fantasy I
3. Grand Theft Auto
4. Sim City
5. Star Ocean the second Storie

1. Civilization 3
2. Rome: Total War
3. Myst 4: Revelations
4. Age of Empires 2
5. MVP Baseball 2004/5

Goldeneye
Nice :goodjob: In that case I should also mention Warcraft 1.

But the best times were those when I owned this ancient relic of a Romanian made clone off the Commodore 64. You needed a TV, a few wires, one of those huge soviet-era tape player, a screwdriver and a good ear to fine-tune the reading head of the player :crazyeye:

My favorite was this RPG (it was sort of a 3rd person 2d shooter) named Dan Dare. Others included an exploration-shooter Load Runner or the classic PONG (improved), POOL or Formula 1
