Five Take On The World (Conquests, Deity)

I am going to assume this game is on pause until July as discussed.

Nad,
Can you give us an update on whether you can still play when July comes around? :) I have a trip near the end of June so I may not be avail right on the first.

Hotrod,
Can you post what you have done so far and call it your turn? It just seems better if we don't pause mid-turn. What do you think?

Okay I will get the 5 completed and post tonight. I have been civ free for the last 5 days.

My delay has been awful and for that I apologize will post tonight for sure.

Hotrod

This game will complete, no worries about that :) ;).

Already work is starting to ease somewhat, and I'm hopeful of being back to normal pretty soon...maybe 2 weeks-ish, might be a little more, might be a little less. I'm looking forward to Hotrod's turns :D.

5vsWorld

1550 AD (0): The gruelling endgame has begun. Short rush a tank in bursa expensive but necessary IMO.

1555 AD (1): Madras falls easily. Nineveh should be gone but can't get to it this turn. Bombers kill every thing in Nineveh.

1560 AD (2): Swap Antyala to a transport to start buildup of a necessary navy to take out russia sooner rather than later. Driving a wedge into the babylon core with my sites on the huge size 32 capital. Lots of unit suffling and rebasing bombers

1565 AD (3): Bomb the heck out of Nippur and Zariqum. Moving units to stick Zariqum soonish. WW is up to 20% so up lux to 20%.

1570 AD (4): Zariqum falls without an attack necessary :(. Beat up Elipi and Nippur some more. Get a leader but have nothing to do with him.

1575 AD (5): Terrible interturn losing the army. Lucky for me we have a leader sitting around. Also lost our gem colony to "aggressive" settling by India. If we weren't already mired in a war with babylon I think that would start a war with India. Lucky for him we can make a new gem colony. Bombing of Babylon and Elipi continues. Load up a new army with tanks and bring them to the front lines. Continue tank production in our cities.

Either would be fine with me. Maybe Gozpel, you, and I could take a turn in that order and then we put it on hold.

Maybe it depends how much discussion the war will involve. If it is straightforward then taking the turns seems fine. If we need to discuss a lot then we might want to wait so Nad can participate. My suggestion above on us 3 taking a turn is based on the fact that the war seems pretty straight forward: Beat on Babylon until they squeal.

Babylon is big but took out 2 large cities with little effort and lots of bombers. Babylon itself will fall quickly I think once we get a stack of artillery and tanks nearby. Bombers appear to be able to do the job alone and we have plenty for now.

I think we can separate babylon in 2 halves and take each one on at the same time. Our units didn't see much action.

Ok, Looking at the order we played before: you are up Aggie, then I, then Gozpel. SO

Aggie: Up
Greebley On deck
Gozpel: Last turn until July.

After that we break at which point maybe we can just keep the order?

In other words:
Nad (Up after break)
Hotrod (on Deck after break)
Aggie (etc)
Greebley
Gozpel

I figure Nad can decide at that point if this is good.

I have no problems playeing a few more turns before the break.

We want to win this :)

IHT: Our route to Babylon is cut by the expanding Indian empire. I get a Right of Passage with India and block the route to our homeland with workers. India has a settler next to the oil colony. We will lose it in the IT :(

IT: The oil is gone, I let our towns build TOW's.

Turn 1 (1580 AD)

Babylon:
-Bombers kill 4 infantry. The strongest defense is a redlined TOW
-Elite tank kills TOW and gets redlined
-Vet tank kills 2 HP tank
-I misclick and choose a vet Sipahi to attack a redlined infantry, but it wins
-Vet tank kills redlined infantry
-Vet tank kills redlined infantry and we raze Babylon. WOW, that's fast

Babylon city, formerly American (forgot the name!):
-Artillery redline 2 infantry and TOW
-3 tanks needed to kill a TOW and infantry, one tank is killed
-Elite sipahi kills the last infantry and we raze the city

Hindana:
-Artillery redlines infantry and TOW
-2 vet tanks kill the defense and the city is razed.

IT: 3 infantry units and a wounded tank are killed, a few slaves are captured. Russia lands on our part of the continent to settle.

Turn 2 (1585 AD) Quiet turn. A lot of movement and taking out Babylonian wandering units. I also build an airport on a mountaintop in the old Babylon core. I don't understand the airfields on the grasslands. They are too easily taken out. During bombing runs two bombers are shot down. We kill a Russian settler pair. War weariness requires lux to 40%.

IT: One infantry killed by a tank. India now also has tanks.

Turn 3 (1590 AD)

Ashur:
-2 bombers are shot down, but we in return kill two infantry and a TOW
-An elite and a vet tank kill infantry and tank. The city is razed.

New York:
-3 infantry, a TOW and a tank are redlined.
-2 vet tanks are destroyed, but 3 more tanks and an elite Sipahi manage to raze the city. We get a leader from the Sipahi. I keep the leader for later use.

IT: Tank kills a TOW, but three other tanks are destroyed by our tanks.

Turn 4 (1595 AD)

Sippar:
-Bombed to bits, but it has enough defense to stand for a turn more. Our ground troops get closer. 2 of our bombers shot down in the process.

IT: Two tanks try to kill infantry on grassland, but retreat.

Turn 5 (1600 AD):

Nippur:
-Good old artillery bombing redlines all defense and gets the city to size 10
-2 elite tanks kill redlined TOWs
-2 elite tanks kill redlined infantries
-2 vet tanks kill infantries
-vet tank kills tank and Sippar is gone.

Intercepters kill two more bombers while bombing Nippur, but the tanks army razes the city.

IT: Nothing scary from Babylon

Turn 6 (1605):

Sippar: first artillery redlines and then bombers kill defense. 2 bombers are shot down. A Sipahi takes the city.

Elipi:
-Again one bomber killed, but we redline the infantry and TOW
-3 tanks are needed to kill two defense. One tank is destroyed.

Other troops heal or move to the next target.

IT: We lose a Sipahi, but our infantry holds vs a tank. India is settling quite a lot this turn.

Turn 7 (1610 AD)

A former American city:
-Again a bomber shot, but the defenses are redlined.
-Tank army redlines vs a TOW but wins
-2 elite tanks take out a TOW and infantry
-2 vet armies kill infantries and the city is gone.

IT: I appear to have made an error last turn. I captured and city and then abandoned it. I didn't want to replay the turn, so I accepted the violation of the rule. But now Istanbul riots. I guess it got the unhappiness of the abandoned city :(

Turn 8 (1615 AD)

Philadelphia:
-Artillery redlined all defense
-8 tanks are needed to kill 7 defensive units. One tank is redlined. The city is razed.

Turn 9 (1620 AD) The big push!!

Vladivostok:
-artillery redlines the defenses
-3 tanks and a sipahi kill a TOW and three infantry. The city is gone.

St. Petersburg: artillery does the usual work, 3 tanks are needed to raze the city

Garchemisch: artillery and 2 tanks needed

Moscow: artillery and 3 tanks needed

Akkad:
-4 bombers were shot down by interceptors  We are losing our planes fast!
-other bombers manage to get the city to size 7, but not all defenders are redlined

IT: Nothing

Turn 10 (1625)

Akkad:
-Tank army was next to it and kills three 2 hp TOWs
-Tank takes out infantry and the city is gone, along with two fighters.

Novgorord: artillery and 3 tanks.
Rostov: artillery and 3 tanks, one tank killed by redlined infantry.
Krasnoyarsk: artillery and two tanks.

We are now very close to Miami, which has oil!!

Miami: artillery and 2 Sipahi :hammer:

I create our oil colony and immediately switch the cities to bombers. We have only 23 let of them.

Smolensk: artillery and 2 tanks!

I get three luxury colonies, allowing me to lower lux tax to 20%.

Resume:
We have the strongest army of the planet. Have a look at these screenies and know that we won this thing:

Note that we have 10 turns of a ROP with India left. OTOH: We wan't to fight them within 5 turns!

Great job Aggie! :)

I knew the Babs was toast after I took out a quarter of their units, but the difficult part, that was to reach into the Babs lands was excellently executed.

The rest is just a wipe out :)

Big

wow! :worship: Aggie!

By all means finish this one off guys :). There can't be much more than 20 turns left in this game, it's just a case of mopping up the remaining civs. Those f11 stats Aggie posted are incredible...to think this was a 5CCC on deity! Go team!
