Former Gitmo inmate to stand for election

YOu know why he was released...

Cause he was innocent

Never assume lack of proof as innocence. Or do you think OJ Simpson innocent as well?

Obviously the US government has quite a track record of releasing criminals who were in fact guilty.

Actually, more than a couple people released from gitmo have been picked up again in various anti-terrorist ops across the world.

Again, lack of proof means exactly that...lack of proof...it doesnt equal innocence by any means.

I imagine if a person is released from Gitmo, he's been through a very, very extensive questioning/screening process.

There's lots speaking for his innocence.

At least OJ faced prosecution. This guy was basically a catch and release - the government couldn't even be bothered to try to justify its detention of him..

No its not. It means he knew how to keep his mouth shut when he should and answer the right questions when he should.

Again, the process is not infallible. Just like in the regular court system when bad guys get off because of lack of evidence, so can bad guys in gitmo.

None of us here know enough about his particular case to declare him either 'innocent' or 'guilty', and it's unlikely that we ever will.
ROFL, you're AWESOME!

I love it, now merely being suspected = guilt! Making the Founding Father's prouder every day!

Cool! Then I can't assume that you're innocent either. I mean, I have no proof you're a terrorist, but by your own logic.....

VIVA THE POLICE STATE!

Have I given you reason to suspect me? Have I been found in suspecious circumstances on the battlefield? Have I conducted suspecious activity that could be connected to terorism?

In a word, No. However, the detainees at gitmo have. Those that have been screened and gone through the various process and cleared have been released. You dont like the situation, fine. But dont try to sell me a bill of goods that somehow everyone released from Gitmo is automatically a saint.

Gee, I wonder why someone would have a bone to pick with the US?

You've been to Iraq, haven't you?

Prosecution rests its case.

Actually, Mr. Prosecutor........I havent. Thus you err in all facets of your arguement.

The defense wins. Case dismissed as the prosecution has made a logical fallacy.

I have a very reliable testimony that says you were.

nonconformist: I can provide a white American's testimony too, and we know that white Americans are trustworthy. Besides, it's not like he'd get to question the testimonials or their sources. LOCK HIM AWAY!

Ok, so now you've qualified your prior (ridiculous) statement.

And, they've been cleared, thus they should be considered innocent and treated as such.

That said, I still suspect you of something. Maybe speeding... maybe littering... OH WE'LL SEE :)

And... when/where did I say they were saints? Oh, that's right, I didn't. :)

Is this like when I argue against the Death Penalty and all of a sudden the pro-DP folks think that means that I'm for turning all murderers loose and, in fact, requiring them to be housed by virgins?

Please use the tags. Some people here are obtuse; for example I have great difficulty recognizing sarcasm, especially over the Internet, due to having Asperger Syndrome.

I will provide that testimony assuming my bounty is promptly paid.

As a warlord of the so-called "Northern Alliance", I have full faith in your integrity, honesty, moral fortitude, and love for all things American. and the $10,000 is being wired into your account as we speak

Wow.

Just out of interest, how many flags do you own? I'm trying to test out a theory about the inverse relationship between Professing Loudly To Love Your Country and Knowing What The **** Your Country Stands For.

An attorney that would purjure himself is not an attorney at all.

Perhaps you need a remedial ethics class from the Texas bar.

Wow.

Just out of interest, how many flags do you own?

Two...one that I bought and one that I got when I buried my father.

Just out of interest...what the hell does it matter? Oh..and if you think everyone not convicted is totally innocent, you are beyond niave. Sometimes the criminals walk free and sometimes the innocent get wrongfully convicted. We try to ensure neither happens, but its not a perfect world.

And I am more than willing to be via my service to my country, I have a fine understand of what my country stands for.

Good for the guy that was training to kill Americans? Are you mad?

He was picked up in Pakistain.
Which would arouse surspicion but even so it was rather poorly handled.

Like that guy who kept THANKING the americans about how well he was treated. How he got to learn some english, free access to books and kept saying he was treated more like a "guest" then a "prisoner". (Of course he was rather famous having been uhhh overseas. now he dream about going to an american university and learning to be a doctor)

Damm you guys sure did miss out on what could have been a very succesful and kind act. would have done wonders for the Us image worldwide.
