Fox News viewers know less than those starring into a wall

But what about Fox viewers who in their off time stare at walls?

Just watch the channel. They don't even pretend to be unbiased. They lead their viewers to take a very slanted view on things, a very political view. The type of viewer that would watch such a channel is probably a bit less able to think critically, in the first place. Once watching, the channel then lies to its viewers. Yesterday, one of their "news" shows simply talked about a new Romney ad for a half hour. How is that anything more than free ad time for a Republican candidate? And I have seen them discuss whether Obama is the anti-Christ before. An intelligent viewer would block that channel on their television upon that discovery.

Reporting that Obama is the anti-Christ is not news.

Honestly I just assumed this would be true for anyone who watches 24/7 news. Though I myself only recently stopped that I guess when CNN made me to angry for me to give them a rating after they spent an entire day talking about Herman Cain's sex scandal. Not really a sign of it getting worse but more of a thing of me realizing that this is all it ever really is.

This is the most disingenuous OP I have ever seen.

What the OP doesn't want you to know is that MSNBC views were 17% for the same question, or in other words about statistically the same.

Also, MSNBC viewers answered the OWS question wrong more than anyone else.

That's just one question.

Anyway, MSNBC isn't really a good source of news either. MSNBC and FOX News are the WWE of news networks.

Saddest part of that article: but the biggest aid to answering correctly is The Daily
Show with Jon Stewart, which leads to a 6-point decrease in identifying the protestors
as Republicans, and a 12-point increase in the likelihood of giving the correct answer.

Your best bet to get informed in the US through television is to watch a ageing comedian take potshots at news channels and politicians.

Or maybe it's just that more intelligent people have given up on both politics and the news media and prefer to look at someone to take the mickey out of them.

Do you watch Fox News?

I think the saddest part of any study like this is to infer causation from correlation. You could probably survey people that watch Family Guy and get the same result.

Isn't that the premise of this thread?

You're better of not seeing the sensationalist bs spin the news channels put on their news and hype every non-story up to epic proportions while having 'experts' on who's only job is to spout controversial opinions to spark 'debate'.

One simple sign would remedy the situation: Not much going on right now folks

Well, correlating stupid people with Fox News is still a pretty funny result.

But you would need to check how they corrected for demographics in their study before making such a statement.

Its because fox news is entertaining and daily show is informative.

And by entertaining, I mean, getting kicked in the balls can sometimes be funny.

Is this news? :p

I don't watch the news - instead I read a broadsheet newspaper and several current-affairs magazines.

There is a World outside the television you know ;)
