Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Unless the purpose is to spam is with reports, we normally appreciate if somebody reports more than if he reported less ;).
I don't if it can be done, but maybe an automated PM could be sent to the reporter after each report he makes? Then, if nothing is done, the reporter will at least know his report did make it through.

I'm fairly sure it's higher than that. I know for a fact that I posted in your game like at least three times and that isn't showing up.

Some forums do not give post count. IOT is one of those. Forum games another.

Why not simply display actual postcount right under the fake one? Everybody wins.

It's not high on mine either, but that's the problem. It's at the back of my mind, bugging me for attention. Like that shiny coin over

Because post count is not something that is high on my priority list.

And your post count is a few less now that I have deleted some spam above.

If you're willing to create post count free subforums to move threads into after an arbitrary thread length is achieved, it's obviously pretty important to you.

Says the guy who puts his position in the post count list in his signature.

We do those to control and limit spam. And in terms of priorities, I really can't be bothered altering the forum to show the proper post count and the reported post count (and it completely defeats the purpose)

ainwood, azza never said his penis length postcount is not important to him.

What's wrong with forum cred, though? I don't see any point in it, and the mods sure don't either, but it seems harmless enough. If someone wants a bigger postcount for no raisin, they're going to make a bunch of pointless posts, whether it's in Civ 5 or Mafia. I stand by my point that it's ridiculous to have an arbitrary postcount minimum to access certain features but not let certain posts actually count.

In Civ5 you might get infracted, whereas in the Mafia section you probably won't.

Depends on the post's content and whether or not its a true contribution to Forum's knowledge base or a worthy comment there of. Pointless posts should not count towards minimums needed for certain types of actions/permissions.

If you post in a forum that doesn't increment the post count, then either just accept that restriction or post in forum that does increment the post count. Complaining without convincing evidence (in the eyes of the Admin/Moderators) will change nothing. Please try to find such convincing evidence first; it is the best way to argue for such a policy changes.

I'm not using pointless in the strictest sense. How about almost pointless? I've browsed Civ 5 and a lot of the posts seem to be almost pointless and add negligible content to the discussion or the site.

Sure, there are almost pointless posts in IOT and mafia, but why count one and not the other? How is it not a post?

Have you ever been a serious contributor to a modding forum? If the humans and gmods there don't think each other's psots are spam then it's not. Although, indeed, the same argument could be applied to the postcount in forum games…
