Why is it not possible to upload biq files?
Now that you mention it, i had that problem too while patching. I had to go around it.
They take very little space ... i wonder why they're not allowed. :hmm:

I found a funny bug that occurs often on CFC. It doesn't bother me too much, and it's to small to post it in it's separate thread, so I'll post it like a little question: why does this happen?

yer happens to me as well, it doesnt bother me so much and nearly always happens with turner-not sure what thats meant to mean.

I looked in the members list and I looked at how many posts people have made. We have several hundred pages of people who hardly have posted at all. Some (many) haven't logged in for years. Can't we clear up this place and get rid of the people with less than 0.1 posts per day?

People have asked this before, and the answer was no. Had something to do with advertising.

There's a couple of reasons. (1) Like SuBI said, it just looks good. They registered for the forum, so why not show the highest # of members we can? After all they are/were members at one point when they registered. (2) Some of these people might just use the forums for PMs, make the occasional post, whatever. Posting may be the biggest reason people register, but it's not the only one.

Another reason is often they come back. I recall when [civ4] came out a lot of the old SG players from [civ3] who had disappeared, suddenly appeared again. Some of them hadn't been active in a long time.

i imagine quite a lot of them would have a few posts already though, think al da was talkin about them people with no posts.

also you used to have to be a member to use the search key so many signed up for that (dunno if you still do)

You can always use the google search if you're not registered. However, to use the integrated forum search function you need to have an account.

I need a little help with posting images.
  1. Where can I get the attachment number so I can use the attach tag? I've looked at managing attachments but they are all listed as name.jpg
  2. When I use the img tag the pic is only thumbnail sized, but the picture is something like 300x200 and I want it to display that big.

Hover your mouse over the attachment link. Right click and select properties. That should give you an attachment number.

I'm guessing you mean imageshack? There should be a URL for non-thumbnails when you copy the link from their site. If not, not quite sure what you mean. I think the only time the forum thumbnails an image is when it's an attachment. Not sure tho.

Photobucket doesn't do thumbnails, it just gives you what you upload, which is why I prefer it to imageshack. Also easier to use, in my opinion.

Okay, trying to make this simple.

- First thing first (which you already know), you use 'Manage Attachments' when you're writing your post.
- After you close the 'Manage Attachments' pop-up page it'll have a list of all your attachments near the 'Manage Attachments' button.
- Right-click the file(s) you upload and 'Copy Shortcut'.
- Than paste that shortcut in between your [attach][/attach] tags.

It'll look something like this:

[attach]http://forums.civfanatics.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=138152&stc=1&d=1158180923[/attach]

- The only numbers you need in that whole mess are the ones in blue I have highlighted below:

[attach]http://forums.civfanatics.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=138152&stc=1&d=1158180923[/attach]

- Removed everything except the blue numbers I have highlighted and you'll have the numbers you need to attach your file.

- The finished product will look like this:

[attach]138152[/attach]

I hope that is what you wanted.
