Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

That's the default value for dates in the database. I'm guessing their last activity was before the forum started keeping track of it, so they still have the default value.

Wow, the default value for dates in the database is a lot of time ago!! The internet didn't even exist in 1970.

@dutchfire: yes, (Romanian time) 02:00 = 00:00 (GMT)
We are GMT +02:00. :)

Midnight, Dec 31, 1969 (or 01/01/70 00:00:00) is the zero time for unix-based systems (and has been since unix was developed). It has since become the defacto zero-time for many other systems, as well.

(And in case you weren't aware, the 'net predates Windows servers. ;))

I have a question about the image gallery.

Are we allowed to upload images from mods ? (i mean not only graphical mods)
I barely saw a few pics with graphical stuff modified. And none with, for example, a new unit or a completley new building.

You probably just need to change your name (from Guest to madviking). As long as the other stuff is set to #civfanatics for the channel and irc.irc-chat.net (or something similar) for the server, you're fine.

You can. Just be sure to include the info (i.e. which mod) in the description. :)

Does CFC support the new daylight savings time rules? I'm noticing that the last couple of posts that I've made are being shown an hour behind.

I checked my CFC control panel -- my timezone setting is correct and the DST option is set to automatic. Is there something else I need to do?

Just curious, but are your settings set like this?

This is how my settings are and the time is correct with DST.

Exactly like that! And your message is showing me that you posted it at 7:15PM rather than 8:15.

BTW, Methos, congratulations on your new staff badge! I must have missed the announcement!

Time is correct for me too, although earlier on Sunday the time was 1 hour fast.

Just curious, but what if you try and reset it? In other words, turn the "Automatically Detect" off and save your settings. Than turn it back on and resave your settings.

Thanks!

Sadly, that did not work, either. However by using the option "DST always on", it does at least show the correct time. I think I will just go with that setting. :yup: Although, I may be back in the fall when I've forgotten that I turned it on! :p
