Frequently Asked Questions

How many civ FFH supports at once now? I want to have room for the 2 extra-planar, so is it still 18? (so this would mean 16 regular civ, including me??)

supports up to 34 civs

I know before a patch it was really obliterating everything, but now it 'only' wipes out the improvements on food resources and changes some plains tiles to desert. It seems OK now.

Well, I believe i"m using patch 'k'.

But it wiped out EVERY single FARM on the map, including food resources. Is there way just to edit out that specific event? I don't want to turn off the counter completely.

Yes, if you open up the fall from heaven editor, go to the event triggers tab, then go to the eventtrigger_armeggedon_blight and lower the iPercentGamesActive from 100 to 0 and iWeight from -1 to 0 and you will be free from that event.

Dumb question, what program should I be using to open the editor? It won't open.

I see a CIV4EventTriggerInfos xml file in the Assets/events folder. I assume I can just edit that through notepad, right?

It supports 35 civs, so you can have every leader in the game at once.

Kael raised the total number of allowed civs to 40 when he switched to BtS, but then people complained about having the same leader in twice so he reduced it to 35.

Yes wordpad or notepad can be used to open the editor and make these changes

Is there a (simple) way to upgrade to the newest patch, but still play a saved game? I'm assuming I could always install Civ + FFH2 in another directory (I think that's the right word ) but I'm far too lazy for that. :p

No simple way Im afraid. Even if you were to copy as you suggest there are internal references that would need to be changed as well.

Yar! How do I change a Mana node to a node of a DIFFERENT kind? ie, I have a Life node but Blight just hit me and I really really need a Water one now. Evidently, it's more complicated than just pillaging my Life node. Help, my people are starving in the desert.

Or you could cause a revolt in the nearest city (either by building the Perge of the Unfaithful, training a Beats of Agares, or selecting the certain options in certain random events), and the mana will revert once it re-enters your borders. (It reverts the mana, not the node, so you will still need to pillage first.)

I think Kael would want me to inform you that he considers using these exploits to be cheating. :p

The Amurite world spell also reverts all the mana in the world (plus gives all their arcane units +1 xp per node it reverts)

where can I find the relationship state between 2 nations (none being me!), I get "you have traded with my worst enemy" because I lack this info...

why sometime a nation can propose one of his mana as a possible exchange while other time it does not propose it (I mean in the list, not the red/white color).

In the foreign advisor, click on 1 of the leaders, then hover over the other leaders (i think). You used to have the glance screen for this, but they removed it in 3.13

thanks.

Is it true that walls are not cumulative with the cultural defense bonus? If true, they serve nothing?
