Frequently Asked Questions

yup, but it meant that before 0.31, walls served not much...

I have a gypsy wagon emplaced. How do I know it functions? I don't see any user feedback on its use?

I have a question for the art team; when Mercurians start to get custom art for their tier 1-3 units, will they be angels themselves, or mortal followers of the Mercurians?

Mortals. It is only in passing over that they fulfill their ultimate purpose and are able to become the Mercurians best units.

It supports 35 civs, so you can have every leader in the game at once.

Kael raised the total number of allowed civs to 40 when he switched to BtS, but then people complained about having the same leader in twice so he reduced it to 35.

Does this mean that if i set up a game with me + 34 random AI it won't give duplicate leaders anymore?! I haven't tried it since the 40 switched to 35 but that would be a lot easier than setting them each individually.

It cant place Basium or Hyborem from the start so starting a game with 32 AI slots should give you every leader.

Hi there,

First I want to say that this mod is mind-blowing!! It reminds me of good old of Master of Magic with some Age of Wonders spiced on it...

Second, a question. How can I spread the Council of Esus? I got the free nightwatch from the tech, have some money in my coffin... but I can't spread it in the city he is in. Any solution to that?

That is a typical newcomer problem: You cannot spread the CoE when it is not your state religion. If you are not the founder, you must wait until it spreads to your cities by itself or go and capture a city it is already in.

What is supposed to do a stable for the Kuriotate civ?Centaur doesn't need stable to be built, and Stable by itself hasn't given any xp to my Cavalry unit.
Is it completely useless to build a stable as Kuriotate?

If you have a captured Elephant you can upgrade it to a War Elephant if you have a Stable.

I guess this will work for the Kuriotates.

Theoretically, that is a stronger unit than a Centaur, but apparently recon units (like barb Lizardmen) have a large attack bonus against them after upgrading. I haven't seen anything to confirm/refute this though.

Well I have two questions here, I thought of making a new post to ask both of them (one post for both questions, I wouldn't make a post for each question), but decided here was better.

Where is the Armaggedon counter supposed to show up? I did get a sort of text popup in my game that could be from the armageddon counter starting, but I'm not sure. Anyways, just curious.

Also, when I open up the espionage button, it opens up with a screen showing several scenarios, all locked. So, how do I unlock those scenarios?

The armegeddon counter (AC) is in the bottom right corner above the scores.

The scenarios are not created yet. The game was designed to be built in 4 stages, and what you have now is still the beta for the third stage, Shadow. In the last stage, ice, the scenarios will be made

Are you talking about the age of ice scenario or something else? because the start game intro says that the age of ice is over.

The development team set up the game to be made in 4 phases, Light, Fire, Shadow, and Ice. Each stage added different aspects of the game. The current stage is shadow, the last is Ice. It isn't the Age of Ice, just the stage of development.

I have a question here, how do I get the other civs to show up in the info screen with the score and power graph and stuff? The reason I'm asking is because in previous civ games, I used the power graph to gauge just how strong the other civs are compared to me. While the overall score can give some indication of how powerful a civ is, a civ could still have a high score and be really weak however.

If I can't see the power graph, etc of other civs, then could it be implemented later on? I simply find it an useful tool in monitoring my friends or enemies strength.

What's with the scenario screen (ctrl+e)?
Are those scenarios somehow playable (all are currently locked),
or is it just a teaser for a final version?
