Frequently Asked Questions

I use several program to create my units.

1. to edit the texture (skin, clothing etc), you can use gimp here.
2. to attach the texture into the skeleton (the base 3d model), you can use nifskope here.

Since I have not made the base 3d model yet (and might be never wanted to :D) I don't know what program is the best. But when you are not going to make your own 3d model and only use those already finished, using gimp and nifskope is very much enough, IMO.

Sorry esvath

I'm not sure if I undeserstand you.

So with these I'll be abel to give my Unit for example an other colour . But I won't be abel to creat a compleatly new form (for example a seven-legit monster). Is that correct?

Is there a way to undo the trophies/scenarios and redo them? Like when I enter the main scenario screen to choose I want to have to play the menagerie and momus before I'm able to get to the black tower again.

The trophies are stored in "[User]\My Documents\My Games\Fall from Heaven 2\Trophy\Trophy.cfg". You can reset them by deleting this file; an empty one will be rebuilt when you next start the mod.

I don't know whether scenario progress is tracked in that same file, or if another file is used to track that progress. If there is a seperate file for tracking scenario progress then it would likely function in the same way (ie deleting that file will reset your progress).

Hey Emptiness could you perhaps help me?

I'm looking for a way (or program) to creat my on unit graphics.
And that not only by colour and texture, but so I can creat a whol new form.

Do you know anything, or anyone who can help me?

Alas, I know almost nothing about unit creation. I have no artistic ability, so I have never bothered to learn anything about the process.

You might try looking through the Civ4 - Utility Programs forum and the Civ4 - Unit Graphics forum. Perhaps the units you want, or something close to them, already exist. If not, you may find the programs you would need to make units yourself.

And you don't know anyone who could help me?

Right. Thanks.

Is there a way to see the number of turns required to heal for units with large graphics? The griffon in particular along with a few others block the text on the left side of the screen so the all I see is ...turns. So at least I can tell if they only need 1 turn :)

Thanks,

Joey

The image of the unit can be rotated (position cursor over image, left-click-and-hold, then move mouse left or right) or moved aside (position cursor over image, right-click-and-hold, then move mouse in any direction) to reveal the obstructed information.

That used to work for me in the civilopedia, but I think I turned off an animation option and it doesn't work anymore. I don't suppose anyone knows what option that is :) I tried a few but some require me to restart the program which makes trial and error a bit harder.

Thanks!

Do the ancient tower and shipwreck terrain features have any effect, or are they eye candy? I couldn't find them in the civilopedia, or any mention of it with the search.

Ancient Towers improve your units sight range. Like standing on a super hill. They are good for revealing more of the map.

I'm sure this has been answered before and apologize for the redundancy, but how do I gain a Great Prophet? I keep getting all these techs that make Altar of the Luonnotar available but no prophet to build it.

When you have accumulated enough great person points you will get a great person. The type of great person you get is determined by the type of points you put in, and if you put in many different types of points you'll get a random one. Assigning your citizens to work as priests will generate prophet points. You'll need to build a temple to be able to assign your citizens to be priests. Certain wonders will generate certain types of great person points too. Also, there are several events which can give you a great prophet.

Thanks. I always seemed to have an abundance of them playing with Civ4, but in FFH2, they seem to be rare. Not complaining, just thought maybe I was missing something.
