How long until Disney decides to make a more "Children Friendly" spin off starring Jar-Jar Binks and a group of Ewoks......:shifty:

The combination of "live action theater" and "movie" in the thread title confuses me.

I think first-run movie theaters will transition to being something more like live theater - $50 events that few people go to - before Star Wars dies. The big franchises will mainly transition to at-home VR. You'll still see franchises like Star Wars in theaters, but they won't make the megabucks that way. I don't have a guess as to when this will be, though.

Star wars will be dead when they release Episode XVXIIXVIX Jar-Jar and Friends Super-Fun Adventure time

Yeah I am actually a lot more hopeful for the Han Solo movie than the next episode. I have no real desire to see that one, even, fearing just more disappointment.
I have said it before and I say it now: The prequels may be bad, but they had vision. They tried to be something. And I still find that something intriguing.
The Force Awakens was just completely forgettable to me.
Rogue One wasn't exactly good, but it had this drive to be something interesting and I appreciated that. And well that end scene, Menacing, but in a still solid and not overblown, classy way.
That's hands down one of my favorite movie endings. It had the same impact as the ending of Galipoli.

Darth Vader murder porn followed by creepy CGI mannequin? That's one of your all time favourite film endings? Okayyy

That plus the protagonists getting vaporized on the beach. It was a very dramatic ending. I loved it.

Well you did say the end scene, so I didn't think you were including that.

Define bomb. As in doesn't make money? If that happens it's cus they spend way too much on it.

Bomb as in doesn't hit projections? Total possible with any movie. Adjusted us gross though not a single star wars movie has done under 477 million, the adjusted gross of episode II. I think potentially people could get star wars fatigue and one might *only* hit like 300 something domestically but worldwide they will always haul in a ton cus star wars is big overseas too. Considering the budget of force awakens is listed around 300 million don't see flop status unless the worldwide market for star wars just tanks.

But to expect every star wars flick to be a billion dollar film is silly. It will cool off some.

Regardless of what happens with the box office draw, Star Wars merchandising will continue to be a huge seller. They made billions off the merch even when they weren't making any movies at all.
