Frontier Justice [Game Thread]

In my defence, I didn't realise there was night posting.

And I was moving stuff, after semester ended. So...yeah. I was tired. I am back now though :)

You say Omega and JK are possible townies and then say that they are good contenders for today's lynch. You have also changed your mind about BSmith.
This seems like you are searching for reasons after making the vote.
I dont agree with your "I did not vote Arakhor because i cannot get him lynched" stance.
unvote; vote: Spaceman

This post I find slightly scummy. Especially the searching for reasons part. D1 there is no reasons. Theres also the spaceman is generally early lynched, so if w/w, this post gets townie cred, while putting spaceman at no risk of being lynched, due to the other votes already placed.

vote:atheotes

Honestly, I did find him kinda scummy, only I was tied into the standoff with Megan so I couldn't risk going out of my way to get at him.

We need to build a wall to keep out game migrants like choxorn trying to take our hats

I fact I'll make a new hat. Make Westville Great Again

The hat isn't an approval to be a dictator

If people softly discuss alternate candidates and pool enough support to encourage the hat bearer to act, that would be all public record

If takhisis came in and lynched bsmith without saying anything and bsmith was town we would pressure the wild kitty

The majority also entirely control whether to set up a tie in the first place. I was open about my intent and willingness and there was plenty of time for anyone to act

N1 vigilante is usually a problem because the vigilante acts without it being public record and often other tiwnies are left without knowing who performed the action

Traceability is King

Would we though? There were plenty of people under suspicion at the end of D1. BSmith, Arakhor, Al Sips, me. Along with Meg, KM and JK. Tak could have safe shot any of them and faced little backlash

I agree with Duff, but I'm going to hold off on actually voting until Golden testifies (or decides not to). I'm still really interested what he has to say.

keep in mind that since every townie is vanilla, Golden has the exact same information you do. The words of a confirmed townie are valuable, but he doesn't bring any special information to the table.

Al Sips time:

Howdy,

Vote: JohannaK. You have excess kurtosis in your player statistics. :)

No one wearing a hat has any fashion sense, so you can leave your hat on, Mat93.

late JK bandwagonner

You're not leveling anything. And why do you prefer to see the random violence over conscious actions?

I do believe KM (and Megs) is a bad lynch.

I think Arakhor/Spaceman might be w/w.

the exchange with Arakhor was covered above

He's just desperate to survive N1. :D

soft defense of BSmith. Maybe worth investigating a connection between the two

Because other choices are terrible.

Hat/Takhisis

why, given what you knew at the time, was KM "terrible" and JK not?

as everyone whose ever mislynched me over this can attest, D1 tallies = scum 9001% of the time

Well, you know, I'm yet to see when someone says, "Gee, Al, that's some genuine post you got there!" Never happened to me yet. Only scum tells me I'm townie.

I did think their interaction was stretched. Arakhor was really non-committing, like NSP3. Spaceman's behavior like today got him lynched in other games on D1. I'm less sure know, but I see your point.

I already spoke to this comment in an earlier post http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=14210250&postcount=122 and I have nothing really to add.

Verdict: I lean outlaw

Provisionally vote Al Sipsclar. The interaction between him and Arakhor doesn't feel like W/W to me and he looks like the scummier of the two.

Kennigit, I'm letting you off the hook for now for yesterday, but I'd like your thoughts on today. What do you think of Arakhor? Al Sips? Bsmith? Athetoes? voting? life? liberty? the pursuit of happiness? lynching? etc...
______________________

re BSmith: I'll wait for him to post today before taking a stance on him. Same for Xym and edse the other lurkers. I think the morning of D2 is too early to begin lurker-hunting because there's still plenty of time for people to come in and contribute their thoughts, but if by the end I don't like any other case better I might switch to one of them

I don't have a strong read on atheotes, except to postulate a week connection between him and KM since he urged KM voters to switch to their first lynch pick. If one of them turns up wolf, the other is worth investigating, but right now I feel Al Sips is the bigger fish to fry. I want more from both of them though.

vote: atheotes

Arakhor - nullish. He needs to pony up on something and put his money where his mouth is.
Al Sips- I like him as scum
Atheotes - I like him as scum more currently

Votin - one man one vote. Best system there is.
Life - A slab o' brisket and a side of corn bread
Liberty - Eastvillains trying to take it away
The pursuit of happiness - Ya'll keep yer stuff in the bedroom and I won't give a darn hoot
Lynchin - Well my first scout badge was in knot tyin' and it's important to get the rope right, you don't want to use a rope that's all threaded and frayed out from tyin' cattle.
ETC - You gotta use English words round here boy

Clearly, if we lynch in alphabetical order, we will find a scum quite quickly

I believe that is all yer questions

Brisket an' corn bread? What's yer drink of choice, you hatless cowboy?

What are you, some "liquor license inspector"?

If you got a better beer man than Jose down by the courthouse I'd like to hear. Can't beat his prices neither, but then again he ain't paying up to his eyeballs in taxes followin' those Eastville "commercial zoning" rules

You complainin' about taxes? You's like that Capone fellow up in Chicago, where damn Yankees allow mafia to roam about unchecked!

Dance to the sound o' country music, cowboy!

What do you find scummy about the searching for reasons part? Look at what Spaceman posted as his reason along with the vote. I questioned it and he gave nonsensical reasons.
if you think i am bussing him, good on you.

Vote: Spaceman - i havent found any better candidates.

What's with that ‘spaceman is gen'rally lynch'd’ bit, Mat93?

Vote: atheotes. He's a sly fox, I was scum with him before, he might be scum again.

@spaceman, I'm not scum. You might catch me as scum someday, but today you're wasting your time and will be disappointed.

Yeah his post was scummy, but none more so than his normal posts.

You found it scummy he was searching for reasons, but at that point in the game, there is almost no reason to vote someone beyond random, or at least very little reasoning. So to pull him up on that, is IMO doing the same thing.

And I could see him being bussed, and if he was, your post was a good way of doing it.

What's with that ‘spaceman is gen'rally lynch'd’ bit, Mat93?

Recent games, lynched early. Predominantly as town, IIRC. Therefore always appears scummy, and as such isn't read well in general when town. So giving some benefit of the doubt too.

you pressured me (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=14208600&postcount=84) and JK (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=14208550&postcount=80) to switch off of KM, which would mainly have saved him and changed little else of the outcome on that day. Its a tenuous connection, which is why I like Al Sips to hang better, but its something to go off of if one of you flips wolf.

Oh..I get it now. i did not relaize it came off as me trying switch votes off KM.

Yes, there is almost no reason for D1 votes. But when you post a reason and you flip flop when you are questioned on your reason...it is scummy. Not the same as what you are saying.
There is no town cred to earn by bussing your team mate on D1.
And, i havent played enough to know the meta on Spaceman or anyone else in this game. So i am just calling it as i see it.

Takhisis is behaving weird. But when he is not? I will not vote for him. I will vote: Atheotes.

BSmith still is the one candidate who sticks out the most to me. He came on, posted a complete throwaway late in the day, and then disappeared. He's not involved in discussion and he is our best lynch.

Vote BSmith

You can also add Mat93, Choxorn and Xym to the list of people who only made a single post all day yesterday. Choxorn didn't even make a lynch vote, but at least hung a lampshade on his inactivity, whereas Bsmith1068 came in to place two content-free votes and then sloped out again.

Hm, continuing with this logic, vote: Xym, I'm curious what (if anything) you have to say. None of the other cases thus far today have convinced me, though I am getting the feeling that atheotes is flinching a bit hard right now.
