Funny Screenshots: Part Deux

I take it you'll be building a lot of work boats soon?

Good. I thought I was the only one confused. I thought the GLH gave trade routes.

Sure, but trade is carried along trade routes, and route is sometimes pronounced like root. Rooter. Rotor Rooter! That makes me think of sewage pipes. Sewage, it can turn into fertilizer. Fertilizer is used on farms, and farms sometimes grow food.

So trade is just like food. :D

except you cannot eat it

Trade sounds like parade, which is a magazine, which sits on my coffee table and coffee is a drink I often consume with bagels and bagels are food...

SCIENCE

Trade sounds like Raid, which I have used to kill ants, which are little and strong, which is like a guy who has so much muscle you can't see him. Which would give off a terrible smell if he sweat. Sweat is like water, which I drink while cursing the incompetent trade system of civ4.

Back to the screenshots! A few from my last game, which turned into a curbstomp -- 5 civs counting my own, three continents, and I think I got the best of the three, so I just ran away with the tech race compared to everyone else (still pretty slow compared to my average, though).

Lincoln, you do know you could attack those ships, right?

Ordinarily I'd just suspect Gilgamesh of temporarily tanking his research so he can upgrade/rushbuy units, but nope, it stayed that way for the rest of the game...

This wouldn't normally be very funny, but it's my first Great General all game...

How do you win at CIV? By having as much population as the entire rest of the world, that's how!

And one last amusement that doesn't require a screenshot: my most-built units were:
Battleship: 16
Work Boat: 14
Great Scientist: 10
ICBM: 8
I wouldn't have had all the battleships, but Lincoln asked me to go to war with Ragnar and I figured, heck, why not? Then Ragnar turned out to have a surprisingly effective navy. I don't think a single one of my land forces got into a fight once I cleared out the barbarians on the island with my chariots.

(The ICBMs were used on Lincoln in that last-turn-to-victory shot)

He's going for a culture win: he set his sliders to 100%:culture:... kill him!

The beavers are evolving and founding a civilization of their own!

I don't have a screenshot of this, but in my latest game, I only have one serous contender, Qin Shi. I decided to declare war on him, and I have a very large army, a stack of about 20 or so siege and 40 others, not including four great generals, one of which is a medic. I figure it would be no problem, right? Then I look at Qin's stacks in various cities. In the five that I could see, it was only three or four defense units. Until I got to the coastal city nearest to my continent.

Knight (85)
Cho-Ko-Nu (70)
Maceman (63)
Trebuchet (120)...

And after that my eyes started bleeding in self-defense. Needless to say, I cancelled all conquest plans and started building a powerful navy instead.

Oh hey, that would make sense. Also explains why he had a couple of cities in the best-cities list at the end despite my hogging most of the good wonders -- because what else am I going to do with my hammers when I'm playing a peace game and I'm making a profit at 100% research?

Rush buy ICBMs because you can.

Or pay off everyone to declare war on everyone, because you probably can.
