Guys, I just noticed something in the game I am currently playing.

I guess Fractal does make up for some interesting maps... :mischief:

Yes, I know I'm still kinda immature

You should be playing as Korea.

General Wang reporting for duty, sir!

Take a good look at the shape of the map in the mini-display.

I did. It's like a messed-up horseshoe shape, and pretty similar to other fractal maps that I've seen.

It has a purple tip. I think you should go to the hospital for that.
My question: How did you get Nationalism at 1255AD?!? And running 100%! And has 3K gold!

Good lord, how many GG's do you have?

3 Cataphracts and a War Elephant. :)

I have both the Buddist and Hindu Holy Shrines (by far the most influential religions) and the Gold comes from a Great Merchant I used in Babylonia's capital.

It's a Marathon Huge game on Noble difficulty, so everything is more intense. :D

All too common. They didn't have Rocketry yet so they couldn't upgrade them to Gunships.

You haven't reached "that age" yet, have you?

It's not really funny, but I don't feel like opening a new topic. :P

How can Athens expand its borders in such a strange way? It expanded around that island tile and the coast next to it, how is that possible?

A more pertinent question is why the deuce did you build Athens in Italy? And how did the Mongols end up building their capital in the Balkans? And what's up with the food, hammers, and commerce on those water tiles?

It's an Earth map with random start locations. The Moai Statues, a world wonder, gives +1 food, hammer, and commerce to the city's water tiles, and I also have the Colossus and a Lighthouse. And I perhaps (but I don't know for sure) world buildered a Commercial Dock (+1 commerce on water tiles) and an Offshore Platform (+1 production on water tiles (the Offshore Platform improvement has been renamed to Oil Rig, and provides a free specialist in a city with an Offshore Platform that has the Oil Rig in its radius)). For the river tiles, I perhaps also world buildered a Levee, Riverport (+1 commerce on river tiles), and Irrigation Channel (+1 food on river tiles) in Athens, and city tiles have a basis of 2 food, 2 hammers, and 2 commerce. It's all part my own personal mod.

In that case, why are two of the water tiles in Athens' city radius producing only the standard amount of food and hammers?

Culture only expands 2 tiles into water tiles away from the landmass a city is located on. The two that are not yours are more than 2 tiles away from Italy, but Iberia lets you get ones on the other side of the sea.

Ah, ok. Thanks.

Perhaps I didn't world builder those buildings in the city. :P

Below (Nos. 1 and 2)

(1) The funny thing, is he's just got independence and is behind me in score.
(2) I have one city with a plethora of wonders and potentially three shrines (and he has three useless cities on an (almost) sub-Arctic island :p )

Third pic:

Okay, that's just awesome. The new capital of the mighty Roman Empire shall hereforth be... Miami.   :goodjob:

EDIT: Even funnier is that IRL Miami is famed for its beaches, and this is the, for want of a better word, polar opposite.
