A screenshot from one of my pbem games ... my coastal city had recently lost its claims and was being bombarded and blockaded by 3 destroyers ... I only had 2 destroyers in the area but I had some expendable transports ... I cleaned out the destroyers (other player likes to name his units) and look who I got as a as a result of the battles!

Native America expects every man will do his duty? Of course, Lord Nelson died shortly thereafter. I remember visiting the Victory when I was a kid - Pretty cool. You really get a sense of how miserable life must have been on those tiny floating rafts they called ocean vessels. And that was several hundred years after Columbus sailed the ocean blue.

Sumerian culture lives on, despite me taking out their last city.

The Sumerian resistance is so Sumerian, every individual Sumerian counts as 100 people.

Some more shots from recent games...

The guys in the modern armor unit for months had kept their little plantation secret from the rest of the guys, but really, it was becoming a bit of a drag to keep up the disguise...

Right civ, nearly the right city - just a bit late in history!

The mysterious plucking of the Ethiopian caravel from Lake Victoria and its subsequent appearance in the lake several hundred kms to the west over a large mountain range is suspected to be the work of aliens...

Liz is Friendly enough to fight anyone for me, become my vassal, give me anything I want to trade for, but not enough to give me her WM; what's she hiding?

Toku and Liz are the two AI's that never show their maps. And the excuse is misused because they'll never like ebough to trade them away. Pretty their real life counterpart were paranoid.

How about no resources in your capital? Does that work for you?

You have a plains cow and a heckuva lotta rivers. I don't see how that's bad.

Why in the world did you settle Pasagarde two squares north of your capital!??! There's awesome flood plans to your west and south. :crazyeye:

Also you should be cottaging the flood plains in your capital.

South? The world ends two squares south of Persopolis!

I settled on the horses so I could rush faster. 1970 BC Conquest win.

Not quite--there aren't any big food resources within the capital BFC, aside from the floodplains--I'd use half and half for this purpose (3 food, 3 cottage).

Started a new game with the Sumerian empire, everything at random, and met my first rival: Ragnar
- No worries, I can manage
In the upcoming turn another empire says hello: The mongolians
- Lol, sure "glad" I picked a protective leader
2 turns later .... Shaka shows up
- Wth, another war-monger
and ofc, some turns later, no other then le Aztecs show
- ... ... ... ... !

Yes, all random picked leaders! Guess Im going for high power-rating^^
