4) AI shows industrialism (oh oh ... infantry!!!) but not rifling ... and infantry cannot be built without rifling :D - this is the second time I have seen an AI do that

Not only is the AI missing out on Infantry (from Assembly Line), but Tanks as well.

Maybe he just wanted factories really quickly so he could studying rifling while building all the factories so that when infantry and tanks were available he'd be able to build them really quickly...?

Well if he did that in my game I'd have only one thing to say . . . "Thanks for building me all those factories!" :D

 So the AI is still not so smart ;)

I had a game awhile back where Vicky became a runaway AI, and I had to fight my way across half the continent to get close enough to her borders to take her down. So I've got half the continent, she's got the other half. I've been getting closer, and closer, absorbing and capitulating all the civs between us - she can see the storm coming. She's got a large tech lead over me. And when I finally get in position to launch my attack, she's got longbows. She had Assembly Line, and was well up the science line, but never researched Rifling. And her UU is a Rifle unit! Stupid AI.

She probably forgot that she didn't need a gunpowder resource to start building.

Yeah. I was still hesitant to attack Han, just because it wouldn't have taken him long to tech Rifling.

I did like #2 though... all religions present in my civ, no more than 1 per city and 1/3 of my cities with no religion at all. Kind of like my people are really, REALLY undecided what to believe in. I guess that's what happens when you start semi-isolated and neither you nor your neighbour found a religion... everything spread via Astronomy trade routes.

Less talk, more pictures!

Wrong religion, Dave.

WHAT financial trouble??

So I was fighting the Russian Civil War as the Red Army and who should appear on the White Army side but Zhukov:

He certainely chose the wrong side.

I'd also like to point out that America is researching Communism at the same time. What mod is that?

WHAT financial trouble??[/QUOTE]

are you playing LoR? It happens quite alot on that. I cant count the number of times my cities went rogue because of "finacial troubles". still funny as hell

Spoiler for LHC Willem#2, sorry!

Spoiler :

See that green tower-shaped torch-like thing on top of Munich? That's a tactical nuke coming down. Frederick's. The maniac nuked his own city because my stack was next to it. I didn't even know that's possible :crazyeye:

No, Hitler would NEVER nuke Munich :p Berlin is other story, though ... ;)

@ Silu

In fact it wasn't possible to nuke your own land and units until BtS. I guess the developers tried to avoid that, in situations like this one, to allow the attacked civ to use all it's weapons against the enemy. But I agree, it is definitely rare to see a AI doing that.

Oh, and that screenie is from a ongoing forum game. I don't care about you showing it like that ( I made the map :D ), but some people that are playing it or want to do it might not want to see spoiler info ;)
