If only I built this a couple of turns earlier I would have had the perfect Hadrian's wall
also note Stonehenge in Glasgae
So this time it was built to keep the English out, as opposed to the Scots in? Not a bad idea, but a bit of a waste of hammers to build it on an island.

Looks like you could have used a few spies. Since all you needed was 1 turn, throwing their civ into anarchy due to a civic change or putting that specific city into revolt for 1 turn would have been a good way to spend your espionage points for the win.

i thought of it too late..Gilgamesh was on another continent...one of the many reasons why I still cant beat Emperor.
If any of those cities are coastal, a good ol' "Nuke, Marine Landing, Raze, PROFIT!", might well have been in order.
You were almost there, Dog; just a little more attention to detail, and you'll have it.

Didn't have pottery yet and had worker turns to spare. It's a cooked pangea map just for fun. The plan is to build Oracle and Mids for some early philosophical caste/rep action.

Could you have popped a GA/switched into pacifism without anarchy? That gives more GP points, and you could have gotten an extra artist from Lyons.

I was in pacifism as soon as I hit Radio (for broadcast towers). Thats basically where my teching stopped. I was running representation, so my artists were generating some science. But really, I was a backwards nation. Popping GA's is what made it even close. I was banking on my last one, which i popped right before the screen shot... I attempted to involve Gilgamesh in some wars, and enlisted Saladin, his closest neighbor and equal power, for the job. Unfortunately, the goddamn UN voted against that war. Literally 1 or 2 more turns of it would have sealed this victory. But thems the breaks I guess. I shouldnt have to squeak out victories anyway.
Should have utilized spies like the other poster said. Espionage is a definite week point of my game, amongst many others. lack of patience being the major one.

Another from the same game. First note the fact that moses has been born, then note what he built... In this mod Judaism is the state religion of egypt... Therefore Moses was born in egypt founding the jewish holy building in the country ruled by his "brother" (I think?). Slightly historic!

Ah.
I do wonder why Rome is still at 194 score in 100 BC. Perhaps you should boost them a little bit if you want them to become a powerhouse civ on this map
