Isn't there a random event that can add another Golden Age onto that? :p

And no one is going to wait until they have all those GPs lined up to finish the Taj and pop them all at once.

I think there once was someone who did that... I won't search that thread, but I remember someone explaining that max GAs possible through GPs are (guessing here) 7, because there are only 7 types of different GPs or so, and displaying it with screenshots.

For the good of this thread though, I'd like to post this screenshot, which I call "diplomatic failure":

Isn't him being fond of me for running Nationhood and then complaining about me using Spies somehow contradictory?

Seraiel

...That must have been a lot of spies and nukes.

And funny that the spying is worse than the nuking! And that Seraiel's spies seem to get caught a lot! :)

Regrettably, this is only from the middle of the round... I could not get myself to play the remaining 800 turns for almost a weak no unfortunately...

Someone complaining more about spies than about nukes is funny, but seeing a French complaining about someone performing nuclear tests also somehow is... unfortunately sad...

You made sure no one died during your nuclear tests, I trust? :)

Sentence was comparing the realism factor of a game towards reality, because that was the perspective that Lennier took when finding the humor from spies being worse than nukes.

Meaning: As a French, De Gaulle usually should not complain about someone nuking him ^^ .

What's funny about this screenshots you might ask... look closely!

Spoiler :
The barbarians keep a pet lion in their village! Isn't that adorable? I'm sure they feed him the pigs while they enjoy the wine! :)

It's so that they can hunt down landsharks, and the ever so dangerous Sharknados :mischief:

What mod btw?

So I'm playing the RI world map and I hear the Zulus have been destroyed.. the Germans, Mongols, Judeans, and the Khmers have as well, so I figure why not look around in WB? so I look, and South Chine has Khmer, France took Berlin, the Turks conquered Mongolia, Babylon controls Jerusalem, and one of the barbaric tribes of Africa overcame Zululand. But wait, what about that city north of Ulundi? Is that.. the Armenians?
Spoiler :

Wow...

Heloooooo? Did I scare everybody away? It's just the Armenians, let's be serious :D
Seriously a whole day with nothing?

Spoiler :
Look at the date!!

1918 AD and I JUST met the Greeks. lol

What happened was, as you can see from the map, I started on a completely different continent, while the Greeks were the ONLY landlocked civ on the map - so they never sent ships across to meet me. Also, when I sent a ship across, I wasn't able to meet them, since they weren't on the coast.

After a long war against Arabia, which took up all my resources - so I couldn't build a navy to send across and explore - I finally sent a lone missionary to finally go make contact with them (I had seen them on the world map since like the 1400s or so when I first got one).

However, France and Russia were being a-holes and not letting me have open borders so I had to sail up and around, all the way to India before I could finally let him onto land and then it took a few more turns to walk to the Greek border! :crazyeye:

*Yes, I do have an OB with France in that picture, but that only happened AFTER I had docked on Indian soil. Grrrr...

Has anyone ever met a civ LATER than this???

there have been a couple of games where either a) the civ dies before I get to them (this happened once with barbarians and monty had the whole continent to himself!)

b) The game ends before I find them! (happens a lot in civ5)

While I have had a civ die before I meet them (happened my first BtS game), I've never taken that long to meet a civ.

And here I thought the funny part was the text--the last place civ saying you two could join forces to take over the world!
