"Sire Napolean? I am pleased to report, Napolean, that the masses have been successfully educated about their Dear Leader Napolean's importance. Napolean."

Spoiler :
Have two funny/interesting screenshots from a heavily modded game (Rise of Mankind: A New Dawn if anyone is interested.)

Screenshot #1: This one is REALLY hard to spot, but is certainly odd. Hirohito is the leader of Japan, and Dido is the leader of Carthage. So you can see that Carthage is the master of Japan...

But wait! Even though Carthage is the master, Japan has LESS points than Carthage!! I bet no-one has seen that before! [It happens because Japan is an off-shoot of rebal Greece, and so it has Greeces technological prowess, but only two cities. Carthage has been around for millenia, so it has poor tech, but lots of units. It just has to capture one city, weaken Japan, and then BOOM! A vassal with more points than the master)

Screenshot #2: In the right corner, wielding the awesome power of 5 tactical nuclear warheads, four torpedo launchers, and a nuclear powered engine capable of out-racing any ship on the planet: THE NUCLEAR SUBMARINE!

In the left corner, weilding two heavy ballista, and not one, not two, but FIVE rows of slaves, the SIEGE QUINQUIREME!!

Who will win? Nobody knows!

[BTW, with 80 str. vs. 5 str., this is actually BETTER odds than an unmodded tank vs. spearman. Also, the sub has a 78% withdrawl chance and +20% strength. Oh, and in RoM, high tech unitclasses (guns, subs, deisal ships etc.) have bonuses vs. low tech unitclasses (wooden ships, archers, melee units), meaning the final odds were equivilent to a 96 str. unit attacking a unit a little weaker than 2 strength. And if the 96 str unit loses, then it has a 78% chance of not dying. The sub won, thankfully]

[Edit] For those who want to know the chance of the sub dying? 3.5163 * 10^-30, or a one in 284,389 trillion trillion chance
[/Edit]

How do you play such a huge game on ROM/AND? In the modern era AI turns on that map would take upwards of 20 minutes on my computer.

After that transport killed my badly damaged missile cruiser they figured there was no more time to get back in there turn. No wonder they didn't give them a nice destroyer or something like that, lazy bastards. Anyway they did not survive  .

Aquaducts can be used as rapids too. I should consider +1 :c5happy: for aquaducts

Who's going to win the next battle after our forced peace  .

How in the name of god do you have that many great generals, with that many promotions, and still only have that little slice of territory?

I have a definite warmonger style of play, but I don't think I've ever had a legit 100 XP unit, let alone multiple ones. And the games where I have multiple 50+ xp units are games where I've taken over enormous chunks of the world.

First I like to choose a state religion nobody else has. Early day's that means I am playing defensive to counter all the stacks they throw at me.

Second most of the units you see are fighting on the front since they were archer/maceman.

Third the first promotion they get is leadership.

Fourth Cyrus is charismatic = -25%XP needed for a promotion

Fifth Cyrus is imperialistic = 100% great general emerge.

If you insist. In my experience, however, trying to make great general units which are combat oriented (IE not units dedicated to being healers,) will invariably end up getting them killed unless they fight nothing but mop-up battles against max-collateralled defenders.

And even then eventually the RNG is going to catch up to you.

But lets say it didn't. You gave each unit a GG, which is 25 XPs, and leadership was one of the GG promotions you gave them, which is a smart move, imo. Let's further assume that each unit already had a modicum of XP prior to having the GG attached, call it 5, 3 from a barracks, and 2 more from theology or vassalage. That starts the unit with 30 XP. You have GGs which have thus earned 123, 119, 115, 75 and 69 XP, or a total of 501 points. Leadership means min of 2 XP per win, so if they fought nothing but battles which earned 2 XP per win, that comes to 250.5 individual fights. We'll round down to 250 for the sake of argument. Less, obviously, if you have actually had them fight non-trivial opponents.

You *might* convince me that you never lost a single battle out of those 250 if they were all versus units in pure clean-up mode. You might also convince me that you had other great general units which did in fact have the RNG catch up to them and die. You'll never convince me that you fought normal battles with those units and didn't get have at least one of them end up on the wrong end of the RNG.

But that is not what you suggested in your first post. ;)
I have done some reloading. Otherwise none of them would have existed anymore. What do I say? I would never have been able to take screenshots of that era.

Is reloading something bad when playing only for fun? :)

I guess not if it's just for fun, but it is totally cheating. :p

With that I can live. AI's that say I do not follow the right religion while I control the buttons of the game and can travel back in time and can kick the AI's out of my window are not smart and deserve to be cheated upon. :nuke:

 May be in my next games I am ready to give up my immortality.

At least my post count improves

"Our Gods are better than your Gods!"

"Our Gods let us travel back in time!"

"Really? ... Well, @#%*!^%!*@^."

There is no such thing as cheating in a single player game. Play as you like, and be happy.
