I take no credit for this one. I just thought it deserved to be here
Joshua386. You are the Liberalism Master!

See here for more info.

But... how was he able to research Future Tech with one city AND be the first to discover Liberalism??? He is seriously ahead!

A quote from this other thread:

Joshua368 said:
For the heck of it I went ahead and started a game. One city challenge, pangaea, six other civs, settler level. Picked Peter (philosophical, expansive, research institute) and world buildered all the wonder resources I lacked into the nearby terrain as well as I slight passage to the ocean. Fun times!

[...]

Every building and wonder in the game. Also seven holy city. (though only one shrine, the rest of the prophets were merged) Got legendary nine times over, almost 500,000 on a normal speed game. Even though my military consisted of a single axeman and scout (upgraded through the ages) and later a nuke, my power level stayed #1 or #2 consistantly.

"If you go down to the wood's today, you're sure of a big surprise"....

A barbarian battering ram quietly smashing a path through the jungle, no doubt laying the foundation for an invasion road to march in the hordes!!!
(Wolfshanze Mod) :goodjob:

I like the battering ram! Very cool and a great idea.

lol, dont see those everyday.

A nice idea to channel the water across the water... :D

fresh water channeled across salt water ... makes sence to me :P

Yeah true that, but it was kinda unique...

Btw: Something else very unusual just happened... can you find out what? :crazyeye:

P.S.: luckily they didnt destroy all ruins... a few turns later it payed off to have several :-)

That event changes my game-plan...

As long as the city ruins aren't on a resource, I will often leave the city ruins as the last possible tile to improve, simply because of that event, and if it triggers, I am almost guaranteed to benifit from it...

Its a sizable bonus!! And it obsoletes very late (it does obsolete however... I just can't remember when)

But back to screenshots

Here is a bunch... all of these are within 75 turns, but China doesn't seem to be able to make up it's mind... (Look at the vassalage status between Quin Shi Huang, and Giglamesh...)

i'd figure its because they're close in size ... and China breaks away everytime they pop something due to being over 50% land of their master ... and climbs back in safety of their master when below 50% of his land

I don't get it.

What's the bonus for that random event?

Option 1: Get a huge amount (10%... around 1 turn or so) of a random tech you can research.

Option 2: Pay a big of gold (Normally around 1 gold for each 10 beakers). Get a 50% chance to get 10% extra science (for 20% total) on that research. If you fail, then you only get the regular 10% science.

Thank you, Digitcruncher.

(Running Revolutions Mod)

If you thought China had some vassalage ... issues ... spare a thought for poor Ragnar!

And before you ask, yes, Ragnar left the vassalage agreement, and then re-entered it ON THE SAME TURN. I think, however, that this was in part to do with the revolutions mod :P

And finally, in this mod, when some cities are about to revolt (Spawn another civ, which goes to war, with alot of un-usually promoted units), you will get a message asking if you want to 'ease the tensions' in those cities. Normally this occurs with 2 or 3 cities. You are in trouble if you have 4 or 5... but...

Poor Suliman... 9 cities threatening to leave the main civilisation!!

I had that happen to me while running Next War mod. It probably has nothing to do with Revolutions mod.

No. I had a guy break off one turn, and rejoin the next, with out a mod.

Hmm!!

I guess the AI doesn't quite understand what it is getting itself out of when it says "I don't want to be a vassal state"

Obviously jumping in and out of vassal states is MUCH more common than I thought!!
