[GS] Gathering Storm Screenshots Discussion Thread

concerning this:
first of all it doesn't look like a world wonder to me. Agreed? Just a regular "improvement", maybe a military engineer thing...

secondly I find it suspicous that the canal starts in the city and the so called "dock" is the start of the canal. I therefore would assume canals can only start in a harbor city. That's why they changed the graphics and that's why they mentioned it in the session today. It would make sense if you can only have one ship at a time cross a canal and maybe you are only allowed to enter on a city-tile...

You know what, for all the talk about Canals, wouldn't it make sense to include Panama Canal as a world wonder? It's arugably one of the most known man made canals, was already part ofg Civ 5 before being scrapped. If Golden Gate bridge is a bridge, then it would make sense for them to add a Canal wonder too?

Is the canal tile right of the city just a normal canal or is there an improvement there? Or does it need a district slot and this is the canal main tile?

It's in, according to the announcement on the official website.

Someone mentioned pingala's abilities, do we have a screenshot of that?

Oh, nevermind. That person probably mistyped and the ability i was looking for is Liang's.
I don't have a screenshot, but Pingala changed too. He got Curator from Reyna in place of building faster nukes.

Which, it is.
From the announcement "Here on the Civilization VI team we have heard about “a man, a plan, a canal, Panama” so we felt it was pretty imperative to have a Panama Canal wonder. There’s an achievement in Gathering Storm for creating a full 7-tile navigable path using Canal districts, cities, and this wonder together."

Victor has arms race from Pingala, Amani has new ones called Local Informants and Foreign Investor, Pingala has gotten Curator , Reyna has new ones called Renewable Subsidizer and Forestry Management.

Edit: Victor lost Security Expert, Reyna lost Foreign Exchange, Amani lost Prestige and Promoter.

Edit 2: Amani updates.

Giving Pingala "Curator" is awesome to me, because I rarely put Reyna in cities that have lots of great work slots.

I never use her tbh, very rarely, the ones I use the most is Pingala for the double people points (which I Hope got nerfed cuz that REALLY balloons up), Magnus for the chopping and free pop settlers, Amani for free envoys, Liang for coastal cities and Victor for defensive/offensive positions.

I usually put Reyna in my smallest city for border growth then forget to move her for the rest of the game.

Her double adjacency for Harbors is pretty awesome for coastal cities, because that applies to the Production bonus from Shipyards.

I guess Dido is confirmed then?
I hope not. Carthage has so many amazing leader choices; it would be disappointing to choose a semi-mythical queen twice in a row. Hannibal or pretty much any Magonid would be my choice.

It's Phoenicia according to the leak though :)

The leaker who predicted Dido got a lot of other things right so I believe that Dido is in the expansion

Ok, so this one is VERY interesting since it lists natural wonders and Pamukkale separately.

Edit: This leads me to believe Pamukkale will be a unique improvement or wonder.
Edit 2: Switched out for a cleaner image.
