[GS] Gathering Storm Screenshots Discussion Thread

I thought it turned out that the unidentified Indian temple was the Great Bath or is there another one that i didn't know about?

There is another. All we have is an icon at Civil Service.

I would be very upset if #7 is not Statue of Zeus...
I'll be upset if it is. We have more than enough Greece at this point. We're overflowing with Greece.

Not the same. ;)

Yep, Great Bath unlocks at Pottery and there's another one that unlocks at Civil Service.

Not the same. ;)

Thanks for filling me in guys, its appreciated! Don't suppose we have some leading contenders do we?

Wouldn't you also be at least a little disappointed to be missing 1 of the 7 ancient wonders of the world? I can understand being tired of Greece but surely the wonder itself is more important than who made it?

It seems Indian mega-architecture is a bit of a blind spot for us here. There were a few proposals, but nobody even knows enough to argue about them.

Let's start an education fund for a young and enterprising Fanatic to go off to college and learn about Indian architecture.

What they'll do with that education beyond being our resident expert is beyond me... but that's beside the point.

There's been some suggestions, but none that match it that well. Personally I am sick and tired of looking at Dravidian temples and don't want to search for it :crazyeye:

if we get to see it out of it's tool icon we should be able to narrow it down more than we can at the moment

Honestly looking at that icon, it looks a lot like a giant furnace to me, moreso than it looks like a Dravidian temple.

It probably IS a Dravidian temple, mind. Don't occupy yourselves too much with finding an exact replica. Civ6's wonders are modelled on what the wonder looked like after its completion. If you can't find an exact match, it's probably a ruin. (like the Great Bath was).

No. Those lists were written by Greeks, so of course they're Hellenocentric. :p

Doesn't look bad, what's wrong with it?

At first I didn't recognise it, I honestly thought it was some kind of Bavarian mountain retreat.

The biggest problem for me is that it's the wrong shape, it's too rounded. The real Machu Picchu is sort of an irregular Diamond shape.

I'm a bit amused that, given the state of affairs as Firaxis sees it, Greece is not a civ with a wonder production bonus.

I would like to see more militaristic wonders and Statue of Zeus would fit that criteria. It is actually weird how few militaristic wonders we have. In Civ V we had Brandenburg Gate, Himeji Castle, Pentagon, Statue of Zeus and The Kremlin.

I hope the final wonder is a Gothic cathedral, since at present we shamefully have exactly zero of them. :cringe:

We do have a Gothic abbey as part of Mont-Saint-Michel, but yeah. I visited Seville Cathedral back in October and the Notre-Dame de Paris last year and also wouldn't mind more Gothic architecture in the game.

(Seville Cathedral is literally across the street from another wonder, though.)

Statue of Zeus makes sense for religious combat. I mean in my mind Zeus would make your units better at smiting with lightning. :mischief:

And we already have the Kremlin, well St. Basils, which isn't necessarily the same but still probably takes the place of it.

In that case, perfect wonder quote: "When his disciples James and John saw it, they said, 'Lord, do you want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?'" :mischief:
