Nice to find we have a game and a goody hut. That forest looked like a single tile.
 
Actually, the Pyramids would be a better target. Consider masonry.
 
Can we realistically expect to research masonry and get the pyramids with the AI advantages at deity?
 
Re Pyramids: supports the Expansionist trait, and may trigger early GA, not a bad plan for a 100K victory (fast, cheap and early temples). Mysticism leads down the Oracle path, not a bad choice either, as it supports the REL trait, :hmm: :confused:

In essence both are good but IMHO the Pyramids is better as it never expires.

The Capitol is not a settler farming site, but has lots of early shield potential, so settin it up as a AA wonder builder after the first settler or so is a good plan.
 
The AI has advantages in units and build discounts, both can be overcome by focused play.

about city placement:
5 (pink) would give us only 2 cities, i suggest 6 (green) for 2nd ring. shifting from 3 (blue) to 4.5 (EDIT: meant 3.5, sorry) would net us another city in first ring.

Isn't 4.5 spacing the same as 5? Don't you round up when counting distance?

notes:
i wanted to keep salamanca at decent size, but until we got BW or WC, more then 5 shields are pretty useless (exept for rax). was tempted to send the warrior to the choke, but used him as MP.

Built Niagara Falls SW of blue dot, probably the wrong place....started temple.

Met the Persians coming out of Germany and bought Masonry (75g+1gpt) then swapped Masonry and 10g+2gpt to Germany for Warrior Code. Started research at minimum on Writing. When the barracks finished at Salamanca built an archer, then started another settler.

The southernmost scout reached Land's End in the south while the eastbound crossed into Germany and out the other side.

Gsermans, Persians and Russians are all building the Conical Granary, Germany and Persia are building the Colussus.
