GCF1 - Vikings

Maybe we could send another curragh out to explore to the west.

Thats definitely a good idea. To be seafaring on an archipelago map is a bit like being expansionist, you get most out of it if you use it early in the game.

EDIT: since our warrior exploring east got killed, we still do not know the complete shape of our continent. So, a curragh or warrior need to explore east as well.

Another thing: We do want
  • The Great Lighthouse (because we're seafaring and on an archipelago)
  • The Great Library (because other civs may be ahead of us when we eventually find them)
  • The Statue of Zeus (because we can)
Which one is top priority?

We will get Writing in at most ten turns, after that we can get either Literature or Map Making. To get Mathematics (needed for Zeus) we must first get Masonry, so even though Zeus is a nice wonder it won't be possible for us to build for another eon unless something really cool happens.

Whatever we chose, we can use The Colossus as a prebuild.

I say go for Statue of Zeus. Build a ton of mines around our big producing cities, so we can get it faster. It's important to get it before India, and then take out India (they're in out way).

1--
-explore

2--
-Trondheim- Granary> curragh
-Begin mining for more production
-explore some more (find a new island *looks fairly big* off of the northern continent

3--
-Copenhagen- warrior> curragh
-explore

4-
-Bergen spearman> settler
-explore

5-
-Trondheim- curragh> Collosus(prebuild of course) i hope this prebuild isnt too early, at any rate it is overwritable
-Spot coast to the west with new curragh

6-
- New Island looks fertile!!! plenty of wheat already

7-
-New Island looks lonely, there are goody huts therefore, i think that it is probably empty civ wise

8-
zzzz

9-
- Ghandi has CB and IW but wont budge

10-
-Research writing, not sure what way the team wants to go here, but it is easily changeable, i decide on Masonry because we want SoZ
-Copenhagen - curragh > granary (overwritable)

That's fine. Yes, keep going on Masonry, Cizzlewalk (you are next), IMO. One question gunner: how do you know that is coast?

We should send a settler in a curragh to start colonizing the land to the west,

@Gogf: You can't see it in the screenshot, but there's definately coast to the west of the western curragh. Should be able to reach it safely too.

The prebuild may be a tad early, since we will build Colossus in 21 turns at the current speed and I doubt we will get Mathematics before that. Saw that we will get Masonry in 8 turns if we crank up the research, but Mathematics will probably cost more. On the other hand, we ought to meet other civs to trade with real soon, right?

I'm beginning to wonder - where is everybody? We've found at least 6 different landmasses and still only one neighbor.

Curraghs can't transport, can they? :hmm:

EDIT: Gogf beat me to it. I would have been really mad at myself if they could, since I've never tried it, just read the civilopedia. Wouldn't have been the first time it's wrong. :D

yes, skunk is right there is coast over there, i cut it off in the screen shot though. sorry about the prebuild, shouldnt be to big of a problem i hope.

got it... just saw a movie... anyways that colossus is had an early start...so its going to become granary/settler (depending on what we can get) so we can start getting our land operational. We NEED IW badly, just to make sure Ghandi doesn't plan to invade us first  let's see what I can do here then.

o I always thought that curraghs transport, they do in the middle ages conquest, maybe getting the collosus would be good for our research, and whenever i play the AI usually avoids math,
