General Turn Discussion

Hi Love,

If you haven't already seen, we have a thread detailing work and workforce moves for the next 10 turns or so. There is a simulation of our land and empire that is 100% accurate for the amounts of hammers and food that we have, but is slightly off on gold (due to slightly different maintenence costs between the sim and the game, because the game is on a slightly larger than standard size map). The plan is in need of updating in a few turns, so if you are interested in the domestics/micromanagemeny side of the game, you may want to take alook at that. Idfeally, everybody will post there thoughts about MM in this thread, and leave the thread I mentionned originally for double checking for mistakes in the finalised plan.

@Krill great point. But:

@ Love if you ever see something that is off please question it (like you did here) even finding 1 :hammers: or 1 :food: is worth it's weight in :gold: so always speak up!

Ok so very interesting turn roll over:

1. Whenever a tech trade takes place we can only see it after the end of the turn: Now we can see that Kaz has Monarchy. (i check after Cav's turn and it wasn't visible)

2. We have an opporuntiy for 2 XP with Zuuf. At 98.8% odds if he attacks south, and wins we get 2 XP. If he loses we have to pull our worker back, and we lose the pasture since that other barb warrior the NE is going to move them. (which the Axeman in IS will kill in time if he doesn't need to come protect JD due to Zuuf losing.

So do we attack or not?

3. I have no idea where to send this guy. SW SW was original plan, but kind of want to go SE SE to that hill. However if we go SE then he coudl die with the barb warrior lurking about.
Spoiler :

So where do we go?

2. Attack the barb

3. SE SE, let's see if there's more over there

  1. I think I know why. You can't trade a tech that you just traded for until the next turn, so although they had it, they couldn't trade it, therefore it didn't show up.

  2. Attack the Barb. The moment we refuse to attack with a 98.8% chance of winning we deserve to lose the game IMO.

  3. SW is an option...head off as far as possible in that direction, looking got other civs. Better chance of not running into a barb as well. SE I don't think is worth the risk of getting attacked and the possible loss of the scout

2. Attack

3. Are we trying to clear that "arm" of fog to the East? if so, we go E, then either NE or SE and circle around. If we don't care about that then we go either S in the forest, or take a risk exiting the forest to the SW.

I think N NW is better, it uncovers 1 tile of FoW that we would not otherwise uncover by moving W, and the tile that would be covered by moving W looks like a peak, therefore isn't interesting, and because the grass hill is next to another grass hill we wouldn't get the bonus vision anyway.

A bonus is that if those warriors split up or move north, Barentz can take them out and protect CK from being attacked; between now and t75 if any barbs turn up next to CK then we lose time hooking up the gems, so this is a fairly important bonus considering the amount of barbs that are turning up to our east.

PS. Starting to fall in love with Paint.NET...

2. Attack for sure.
3. No opinion

I do like Krill's proposal and agree that paint.net is awesome. :thumbsup:

Zuur = attacks
Barentz = N>NW
Stuy = E

Hey Guys ~

Just wanted you to know i misclicked in the game. No point asking for a reload as it is easily fixed IMO.

I was takigng a screenshot (to show that we have met your glorious civ). I then wanted a screenshot of the diplomacy page, (to see if we could maybe share knowledge)

unfortunately I forgot to let go of the "Alt" Key inbetween these 2 operations, so when i clicked on your civ....war ensued.

Now being an hoenst mistake I simply offered a cease fire as that would put us back into the exact same. (however if you prefer peace for 10 turns we could do that too)

Thanks for understanding my bobble.

Memphus

Just sent this off. in hindsight i should of offered peace...cause that warrior could mess with our workers on the Gems if he heads north...Barentz can't beat him there.

Great news. Can we get a new diplo message and thread started?

Ah, declaring war on first contact. I've always wanted to do that.

Can we please put all espionage spending back on Kaz. We are on the verge of getting their demographics.
