Generally I'd say I'm slightly bothered/unhappy as I'm useually either doing I'd rather not be doing or putting of doing something that I should be doing but don't want to.

That should do it. Pilgrimage site!

Enlightenment is an illusion and I have no interest in it. If my happiness is illusory, I don't really care. In any case, I have knowledge of suffering.

IMO, I am stress-free by choice. I don't view things as being problems, I don't take things personally, I don't get caught up in the little things that always happen. In short, I don't worry. I will admit that I do sacrifice being ecstatic, I think. I'm not an easily excitable person; some would say it's not worth the tradeoff, but I think it is. I do have moments of bliss, anyway.

Well, I suppose the end of my last paragraph addresses this.

Enlightenment is an illusion? That is your oppinion surely? Have you ever achieved the state of bliss, do you know anyone who has, do you know what it involves. Do you have any sort of reasoning behind your assertion. If I was a Buddhist I would take great offense at this assertion, of course I would smile I suspect and say you are ignorant and that you should talk with me again when you had learned more of life but I'm not a Budhist. I can't say really :)

To me I see a deal of disadvantages in your philosophy, I can't obviously judge you but from what you say, it sounds like you have very little in the way of motivation, and that you don't care enough about things to bother to change yourself or those around you. But that would be unfair and extremely presumptuous as I don't know much about you, so I'll just say it seems avery nihilistic philosophy you have there and can't be ultimately fulfilling? If it is I'd like to know why though :)

I think enlightenment is an illusion, yes. It's just an idea; without meaning or value. I have been blissful, it happens from time to time, though I do not consider it an achievement.

Well, if you want to get technical, I don't think it definitely does not exist, just that I have no reason to believe that does and I'm not concerned with it. If it does exist there seems no way to go about attaining it anyway.

I don't think there's anything to really be learned about life. I agree that I am ignorant.

I don't have a philosophy.

I can't obviously judge you but from what you say, it sounds like you have very little in the way of motivation,

What motivation do I need? Motivation to do what?

and that you don't care enough about things to bother to change yourself or those around you.

I don't think such things can be changed in any meaningful way. I tend to think a lot of people's problems arise from the idea that they can control things, but I may be wrong.

But that would be unfair and extremely presumptuous as I don't know much about you, so I'll just say it seems avery nihilistic philosophy you have there and can't be ultimately fulfilling?

I do think there are parallels between my line of though and nihilism, but then I think there are parallels between my line of thought and any philosophy you can find, and I don't find it particularly similar to nihilism.

If it is I'd like to know why though :)

Is it fulfilling? Where is the emptiness?

Quite sad/unhappy, but like all problems I try to ignore it and hope that it goes away. Someone in this thread said that you need a reason to be sad -- I don't actually have a reason to be sad. Things are actually going quite well for me at the moment. In fact, the only problem I have is that I'm sad.

Then you might feel better when you remember that nothing lasts forever, not even your biggest troubles or worst sadness. Oh of course you'll feel bad for some time, but you don't have to ignore it to feel better.Actually, I feel better when I'm sad or angry etc., since I know then that I'm alive and living my life.

Then you have those who doesn't have anything really bad in their life to complain about (doing well in school, strong family, friends...), and outwards look like they're happy, but still go to bed contemplating suicide every night. Other people can't handle covering up their own misery, and need an outlet, complaining about non-problems like my parents don't understand me and I can't skate wherever I want...
I wish i was in any of those situations.

I've been doing that for a long time and they always come back every once-in-a-while. (like yesterday ... i never cryed for about 2 years ... till yesterday; but i did deserve it because i broke an oath, i just realised that a lot of hours later ...)

But to me it's always easier to feel bad for a few moments followed by relief than to dread "the moment" for long, sleepless nights.
I usualy don't feel bad at the specific moment, i sometimes don't see when someone is hurt or i don't/can't react to this at that moment. So sleepless nights for me.
