Getting more green (cooking the settings)

This is probably a dumb question: is there a way to via map/climate settings to get the map to generate with more grass land tiles and fewer plains and tundra?

The tropical climate setting will produce more jungle which equals more grassland and more grassland in general. If you want more green, pick tropical. Just like if you want more plains/desert/FPs, pick arid.

There is a map generator mod that comes with a lot of other mods. It will let you not have any desert/ice on the whole map.

only problem with tropical is the huge swathes of jungle which encircles the world. Also there will still be ice/tundra at the extremes whic some civs may start in
