This damn acne has been taking me out for the last year or so. I'm nineteen now btw, I never had really flared up or bad acne, just a few here and there and thats it that didnt last long. But since probably the beginning of 2004 I have been having it pretty bad. It REALLY pisses me off that I cant get completely rid of it. I can calm it for a week or so then it starts to flare up slowly but surely, a never ending cycle of pure rage on my part. Anyone who has had it or has it can tell you how annoying it is, it makes me mad. But anyway I have used a ****load of over the counter stuff, right now I use Klear Action, a pro active knockoff and it works sorta well, since I have been using it I have been able to control certain parts of my face pretty well, it works decently, but that isnt enuff, I need something better, its doing a worse job as the months go by.

I have been working hard to tone my body and it is going well and pretty easy. Compared to the damn acne its REALLY easy. Weight you can control, acne seems impossible. Can anyone please recommend me some products that have worked for them? I am sick and tired of having acne, as you guys can tell by my rage. Please help a civfan out. :)

Ah yes, Acne. I must have gone through so many products before I found one that actually works.

I had the same problem and I discovered a product that will get rid of all acne within 2-3 weeks! Unfortunately if you want your face to stay acne-free you have to keep using this product every day! If I stop using then in a couple of days I almost always get a break out, but don't worry the medicine will last you a long time.

Go to Wal-Mart and get a product called "AcneFree". It comes in a 3 bottles used in a 3 step process in the morning and before you go to bed. It is a pain in the butt but it’s worth it in the end. You’ll feel much more confidant and better once your acne is gone.

After your acne has cleared up just resort to putting on the medicine once a day before you go to bed and you’ll be fine. If you start to notice another outbreak of acne go back to using it twice a day.

I've been using this product for quite a while and I haven't had a noticeable outbreak in a long time and not only that the medicine actually reduces oily build up and makes your face feel smooth.

I know that I sound like an infomercial but trust me on this one.

The Klear Action one I use is about the same process. Once in the morning and once at night, it really is annoying. All that damn work. I appreciate the recommendations and will check it out ASAP. Anyone else got others? I always thought that I had a problem, cause I have to go to so many products. On T.V it looks like most people dont go through so many, they just get one and get it right on.

I forgot to mention, I also have some chest and backne, how do I get rid of that? Would I have to latter this product to all affected areas?

You have acne on the chest and back? I never knew that was even possible. That sucks dude. Beyond that I don't have any other recommendations. My acne was relatively mild and only occurred around my cheeks and forehead.

Have you tried seeing a dermatologist? I think they can give you prescriptions for really bad acne but I’m not too sure.

Its possible, its quite common actually. I mostly have acne on my right cheek a little on my left and sometimes my nose. I have thought about a dermatologists but the expense and the side effects of the pills worry me.

Roaccutane. It is the bee's knees. My brother had really bad acne, he used it, his skin/back/chest is perfect now. I got quite bad acne also, I used it, i'm completely cleared up too. Only thing is, it's so effective it literally strips your skin away - so you'll be quite flaky for a while ;)

I think you need to get it perscribed from a doctor. You only need to take a few (easy to swallow) pills with your evening meal, from what I can remember..

I'm still at an age where I should be quite susceptable to acne btw, i've not taken any roaccutane for a few years, and it still seems to be working (no flakiness tho)

If you eliminate Soda, Fried Foods, and Chocolate from your diet, it will help.

If it's really bad, consider seeing a doctor and getting a perscription medication--they really do help.

Benzoyl Peroxide
Benzoyl Peroxide
Benzoyl Peroxide

That's all I really got to say. I don't have much acne, but Benzoyl Peroxide really keeps it away.

Really? Is this true? I've heard many times that the chocolate thing is just a myth. Source?

Myths .

dude, go outside and burn them off, jeez.

Sandpaper your face!

:D

Got there ahead of me, though I was going to suggest him to sandblast his face :D

Actually the only thing that worked for me is a medicine called Roacutane. It's REALLY strong : it's not allowed for pregnant women, and while you're taking it a doctor needs to regularly check your blood  but I can guarantee you that in 4 weeks you'll see an improvment, and in 10 to 12 weeks your acne is history.

EDIT : just saw Gainy Bo's post. That's two of us strongly advising Roacutane (spl ?) :)

Have you tried just popping the little devils? Thats what I do.

Sunlight. Honestly.

sunlight, avoid fried foods, and wash your face. no idea about what to do about the backnce though

All three things you listed are myths.

Tanning/Sunlight only gives the appearances that acne is gone or reduced, in actuality it's still there.

There has never been a correlation to Fried Food (or any food in general) with outbreaks of acne.

Washing your face does not get rid of or reduce acne outbreaks. In fact washing your face may actually spread the bacteria and oil to other regions on your face and exacerbate the problem. It may also rupture acne leading to scars.
