GG 1: Religious Fanatics

I think Samurai are almost obsolete. They can barely keep up with musketmen. Time to move to cavalry.

Transporting units is a problem. Galleons carry 6. Not bad, but not too great especially when our enemies get riflemen because then we will need alot of cavalry to throw at those pesky rifles.

BTW I got it.

Galleons carry *4*...the 6 is a misprint.

We should be able to take America by burning off our Samurai; they have nothing to defend against it.

Egypt has tech parity, so they're a risk to get Cavalry soon...so I think we'll be going after them last--and we may have domination before that point.

I would say: start war with America within 20 turns, then concentrate on smacking down Persia. From Persia we'll be able to make easy inroads against either India or Egypt---again, unless we already have domination.

America has 2 saltpeters. They'll get Muskets up fast. I went and got Military Tradition, built some galleons and upgraded 50 Samurai. Ming can take over the war.

1375: Some workers build roads, irrigate, the works. Looking at Kyoto's culture. 36 per turn. Good, but imagine if we could build libraries and universities. It would be a culture bomb! But that is all rubbish and unholy. The non-believers will die! Hey ChrTh, you left some go to orders on. I really don't mind because they are going where I would have sent them anyway. Chartes switched from colleseum to galleon. The people there are all happy except one. Osaka does likewise. London switches from colleseum to musketman. Once again, all happy.
Bizen completes marketplace, starts a galleon.
Newcastle starts marketplace after finishing a cathedral.
1380: 1 turn left for Metallurgy. Crank the science rate to 10%. Metallurgy discovered, start Military Tradition.
1385: Suo completes marketplace, starts bank. Edo finishes bank, starts galleon. Military Tradition due in 8 turns. Upgrade a caravel to a galleon. Nara switches from colleseum to courthouse.
1390: Osaka completes galleon. Starts another. I want a quick speedy drop-off of my military in America and then have all the galleons return. Copernicus finished. That will be a nice little science boost. A little palace improvement. Great its going to take 12 turns for our galleons in the south to reach the northerly destination. I decide to move our whole fortified samurai army down south where there will be picked up earlier. Some more worker stuff. I sit through about 3 minutes of the stack moving to Dover. :D
1395: Oxford completes marketplace, starts bank. Our culture expands over the last remaining open square on our continent. Indians complete Newtons. We'll probably lose Magellans. Our army is loaded on the galleon, as it is the only unit not being upgraded. I move the galleon towards the American shoreline.
1400: Centralia complets musketman, a marketplace started. Some more worker stuff.
1405: Toyama completes Aqueduct starts bank. Tours also completes aqueduct and starts marketplace. Some worker stuff.
1410: Dijon completes harbour, starts aqueduct. Liverpool also completes aquedtuct and starts courthouse. Finish some cannons and musketmen.
1415: London completes a courthouse. Starts a samurai. Bizen completes and starts another galleon. Its close to Dover, so I bypass the courthouse. We need transport! Galleon with army positioned outside Philadelphia's culture radius.
1420: Last turn. Miltary Tradition discovered! Time for war. I tell my stupid scientists to research the art of railroad making :D. Best of all Kyoto complete's Wall Street! Start up Military Academy. Fukishima completes marketplace and starts courthouse. Some worker stuff. Time for the mass upgrade. I debate over whether we should upgrade the elites also, but in the end I upgrade them all. Why do we have so many Samurai in Chartes? Are they there for the invasion force too? 50 Samurai upgraded at a meager cost of 500 gold! They're all fortified, so I'll leave it to Ming to unfortify and load those cavs up. Here's something to make your life easier: Right click on the stack in the Dover, and then hold shift and then start to awake the Cavalry. The box won't go down then.

The great Japanese Shogun God was assasinated June 22, 1420. Clues point to American war hawks. They will be taught a lesson. :D

I think domination will hit after we have all of America, and the coasts. Maybe a few more tiles on the other continent. I'm sure we can pull off with the victory in less than 100 years easily.

"Hey ChrTh, you left some go to orders on."

Sorry about that; I should've mentioned that there were a couple 'J''s that were going to finish up, as well as a couple of Sam moves.

As for the Colisseums, I had started them for their cultural effect, not their happiness effect. I was (and am) still operating under the presumption that a Cultural Victory may result...although switching Chartres was the right thing.

Samurai in Chartres: just in case a war broke out with Egypt, they could quickly go across. Otherwise, they could move NW to St. Regis in the same amount of time it would take the ships to return.

Ok.

I didn't mind the moving workers. Like I said they I would them to the same place anyway. Anyway its not like I desperately need workers. Most of the workable tiles are irrigated or mined, and roaded.

BTW for Ming: Some of the galleons are on GO-TOs heading towards Dover. You really don't need to bother to cancel them.

At the moment we can win by several victories. Diplo is possible because all the civs love us at the moment. Space is also possible, because even without scientific improvements, we're already in the Industrial age in the 1400's. Conquest is going to be harder, but still very possible. Domination probably will happen first. Cultural can happen with Kyoto.

hey God, are you still up for EXIII? It was dead for awhile, but due to ChrTh's ecstacticness (is that a word? is that the right word?) over it, we have re-resurrected it.

The proper adjective for ecstatic is ecstasy.

That was a nice stack of Cavs there in Dover. Made things quite easy for me.

I'm a little short on time, so here's a more abbreviated post than normal.

For my entire turn, after each city completed production, if a city had a Cathedral, Marketplace, and Bank, it went for military. I built Cavs, Cannon, Muskets equally until the end, when I started more cavs going. If a city was missing one of those three improvements, I went for those in that order. The exception being a few coastal cities which pumped a good number of Galleons and a courthouse or two.

Pre turn. - Loaded up lots of galleons and prepared to sail for new lands.

1425: More ships loaded up for the invasion of america.

1430: Ships sail for America, the Heathens will be converted. I rushed a couple of galleys.

1435: Ships sailing, workers working, more ships loading.

1440: Ships sailing, workers working, more ships loading.

1445: Ships sailing, workers working, more ships loading.

1450: All ships required for initial strike reach striking distance of heathenistic American soil. I split the invasion into two task forces, the first striking north into washington, the second landing in the East at Boston.

1455: War is declared, All ships drop troops off within striking distance of their respective targets. Vicious American prestrike, a lone horseman charges valiantly into our Muskets. He is dismissed.

1460: Boston falls easily to our Cavalry. They're defending with Pikemen and spearman. Washington falls after wounding, but not killing a good number of our Cavs. Remaining Cavs in North sortie roll through New York as well.

Vicious American couterattack, a spearman and a swordsman appeared in the hills north of washington in 1460. They were excused without an audience.

1465: Chicago falls to the crack Northern sortie, the Great Lighthouse is ours. A great leader is formed, and I have no idea what to do with him. More later.

The Eastern sortie, feeling somewhat like slackers, pushes west and claims Philadelphia.

India and Washington form a trade embargo against us. Ghandi just made the list.

1470: The Eastern and Northern sortie meet and easily crush Atlanta. I move many wounded cavs into Atlanta to heal for the final push. Though to be honest, there are four fully healthy cavs outside Atlanta which could likely finish the job. Reinforcements from the home land are turned around as they wont be necessary and there are other crusades to prepare for...

Summary. The Americans are toast. Finish them off quickly to prevent annoying flipping. They're defending with Sticks and stones.

For the life of me, I couldn't figure out what to do with the leader. Philadelphia kept its harbour after we took it over, so we didn't need one of those on the island. I thought about a barracks, but that seemed like a huge waste. Armies at this point aren't really necessary. All they're really good for is getting a victory so the Homeric Epic can be built.

Anyway, he's now on a boat south of Boston. He can be used for whatever purpose. If we're going to press this attack into the big continent, use him quickly, rush a temple or something. If we're going to take a little time to build up a bigger force, we may want to hold off and use him to rush an upcoming wonder.

I like the 'List' comment :D

We've already built Heroic Epic...have we built Military Academy? Maybe we should... :D

It looks like this one is almost done...whom should we hit next? India?

We are still early in the Industrial Era. It will be another 40 turns or so before we get to build ToE. We could just go with a cavalry army.

We attack the civ that is furtherest back in techs. If Persia has entered Industrial Era they have nationalism. India would probably be the best target.

Holy *** this is working slow as crap. I'll try again tomorrow afternoon, if it is still this slow (ya never know exactly whats wrong), I'm gonna have to drop this game. I HATE to do it, but I've never seen civ3 operate this slow, I tried stack-moving 3 cavalry and it took almost 30 secs. Lets pray my comp gets it act together, this is fav SG so far!

Same thing happened to me when I first opened it up. It cleared up pretty quickly. Hopefully it'll work for you, this has been a fun game.

You should turn of all the animations. Also turn off other open windows and programs. You may even want to close notepad and write by hand.

all anims are off. don't worry, it's working now. can't wait till this computer is MINE. First thing: FORMAT.

anyways, I'll post my turn by tonight
